Using Surpac

The document outlines 9 steps for creating maps in Surpac, including importing drill data, extracting assays, creating a block model, digitizing packet outlines, calculating tonnage and grade, applying a dilution factor, identifying material types, and exporting data. The process involves uploading CSV files of drill data, interpolating a block model, digitizing ore outlines, and generating block model reports to estimate ore quantities and grades.

USING SURPAC
Computer Engineering 1600 Geovia Surpac Aurora Blastholes
Raw Data Pit Name
1. Imputing drill info and assays on master sheet
2. Merge the assays and survey info to master sheet
3. Copy update and create CSV file and save in Surpac Imports

Uploading data into Surpac (CSV files):

Preparing Ore Blocks: Aurora as work directory

Blastholes Report Blast actual for Rk, Mk or Ah
Default Aurora

Step 1:
Blastholes Import Data
 Blasthole Database (blast_actuals_AH.ddb) CSV file for import Pit
Name Surpac Imports CSV file

Step 2:
Blastholes Extract Assays
 Blastholes Database Pit Bench Elevation

Note: Always check the plane before creating map

Create an outline on right bench then interpolate it if need

SOP: Creating Maps On Surpac by JPrimo

Step 3:
A: Block model
Blast Outline (eng-01blasting-blast-blast number-boundary-str) Pit
Bench Blast Pattern
OR
B: Block model
Blast Outline (eng->01blasting->blast->pit->pit bench->blast number outline-
>str) Pit Bench Blast Pattern
Interpolation blast block model YES
Extracted assay: oc/rk/p5/rk-p15-assays.str
Block Model Estimation Parameters “Apply”
Ore control block model block models pit name click on file
“No” and “Apply”

SOP: Creating Maps On Surpac by JPrimo

Step 4:
Ore blocks Packet Interpretation
Pit Name Bench Blast Pattern (e.g. b-240) (click hard rock or
Saprolite)
Extracted Assays Fill
Blast Block Model Fill
Packet Outlines Fill
1600Geovia Surpac Aurora Eng
Blast Outline eng 01_blasting blast pit bench number
str file blast number_outline

Step 5:
Create Digitize
New Point (then connect the lines to form a polygon with “0”)
Display Hide Temporary Markers
File Save String DTM (file name enterocahp70 then give your file
a name)
Save as Pit_Bench_Blast_Packets
File name from that blast and click apply.

High Grade Choose string

number for
specific blocks
Red  30
Medium Grade Blue 20
Green10
No dig  99
Low Grade

Blast Outline

Step 6:
Ore Blocks Calculate Tonnage and Grade
Pit Bench Blast Pattern (hard rock or saprolite) (go into packet
outline: make sure file str is correct)
Bench Parameters (height)

Step 7:
Ore Block Dilution Factor
Pit Bench Blast Pattern (go into packet outline: make sure file str is
correct)
The string file pit-bench-blast-packets_diluted.str is automatically save
Note: if block was created with the wrong string go torenumber string and click
on block

SOP: Creating Maps On Surpac by JPrimo

Step 8:
Ore Blocks Material Identification
Pit Bench Blast Pattern
Check string file for dilution.
Select segment to identify: Material Code- rk-p15-b-249-hg-1 (double click on the
block you wish to label)
(pointdisplay attribute to display information

Step 9:
Save CSV
File for surveyors 01-in
Click on diluted ore block and copy str file
Then rename that file to csv file
Export and Save to DFX file
D1 = Tonnage
D2 = Au
D3 = Dil_Au
D10= block id (D6)

Creating Daily Map
Ore blocks Daily Plots
Status Map String File: Rory’s Knoll and Mad Kiss located in survey 03-area1 status
maps (latest one)
Alech Hill in survey 04-area2

Plot file name is the name of the file you wish to save the dwf file.

Block Model From Exploration
Create outline or use blast outline from engineering
Planning calculate segment ore/waste
Model name block model Ge2012BM (ge2012bm_subblock.mdl) Apply
That will calculate tonnage of waste and ore which was predicted from exploration

Apply cutoff grade 1

Make sure elevation is correct
Give ore, grade, waste.

Click planning name segment (make sure name correct)

SOP: Creating Maps On Surpac by JPrimo

Planning weekly plan plots
C drive user name desk top save dwf file
Status Map String File: Rory’s Knoll and Mad Kiss located in survey 03-area1 status
maps (latest one)
Alech Hill in survey 04-area2 (remember these values)

Reset Surpac  Installer  installer_final.td

Display Probability Curve  Block Model  Geostatistics  Basic statistics 
