Admin – Installation check list
Order Component Description
1 Windows Full snapshots of the system is taken
2 Windows System succeeded in all Prerequisites such as
.net 3.5 or above is available
Enough space and RAM is available
Server ports are open in case of firewalls
3 Windows User with local Admin rights to install
4 Software All the required software downloaded and available in the local
drive of the system
5 Database SQl server is installed and user with rights to create tables and
add/modify data
6 Windows AD SPN commands are run and domain controller and groups are
available
7 Required All the points mentioned in the Information Requirement block are
information provided
8 Installation All the steps mentioned in the installation block are executed
9 Diagnostic checks Run the diagnostic tools and check the logs for any issues
10 SSO configuration Integration of Windows AD and SSO
11 Server Servers configuration settings such as logging levels,Xmx values
configurations
APS server sizing and Mobile BI configuration
12 Content migration To promote the contents using upgrade manager
or Server mirroring
13 Testing Test the system and basic functionalities

1. Prerequisites
Take full snapshots of the system before doing any installation to restore it back in case of any
installation failures.
System should able to ping PR and S&M BO servers.
Make sure that Windows has latest patches and .net 3.5 or above is available.
Enough space is available in the drive for deployment and minimum 16GB of RAM is available
Windows account and password with all access privileges to perform the install, i.e. a domain
account with local admin rights.
User Account control settings should be “Never Notify”.
In case of a firewall, needs to open all the ports like 8080 and 6400.
Antivirus software should be in disabled mode
Sql server installed and Username and password of the user with proper privileges for Auditing
and CMS DB creation
DNS alias of the system
Required privileges to run Set SPN commands in Windows AD domain
BO and SQl server software downloaded to one of the drive in the system
Access to shared file system directories for users of the deployment.
2. Required and Installation
License information
Web Application configuration details (Will be same as the current set up)
Database server configuration
SIA Cluster Name
Administrator Password and Cluster Key
Install type (Full and on a single machine)
Domain controller and group names for Windows AD
BO Software version which needs to be install: (SAP BO 4.0 SP4 same as earlier installation)
Folder Name where BO needs to be installed.
Sql server version which needs to be install: (SQL Server 2008 R2)
Extract the RAR files.
Go to DATA_UNITS\BusinessObjectsServer_Win\ and execute setup.exe and follow the screen
instruction
Check all the perquisites are in Succeeded status
Enter the product key
Choose type of installation: Full
Select directory location for installation Should be small and without any special chars
Choose existing DB
Select Web application server type: Default Tomcat Java Web application server
Version management: Check configure and install Subversion
Give Noda and port name for SIA
Give port details for CMS:6400
Give password for Admin account and cluster Key
Give password for SQL server and BI platform user
Enter details about tomcat server:8080,8005 and 8443
Enter details about the WACS services: HTTP Listening port 6405
Subversion Repo Info details : port no(3690) and password
SMD Agent connectivity: No
Interscope Integration: No
3. Post Installation
Install client tools
Post-install diagnostic checks
Windows AD and SSO Integration
Email configuration
Adaptive Job Server configuration
Configuration of Logging paths and settings of the servers
Testing of the system and basic functionalities.
Monitoring and Auditing will be disabled.
SAP Mobile BI configuration if required
Content Migration and mirroring of the system
