● Order as: Consistent Carbohydrate Diet
● What is it? Maintaining limited yet even intake of carbohydrates throughout day
to avoid peaks/dips in blood sugar
● Indication: Diabetes

What are carbohydrates?


○ Foods containing added and naturally occurring sugars
○ 1 serving = ~15 g

■ Fruits (1 small piece/ ■ Pasta/Rice (⅓ cup)

Which foods are NOT carbohydrates or low carb?


(Tip: these are foods you might want to recommend to CCD patients!)
■ Meats/Eggs ■ Cheeses (ex. string cheese)
■ Nuts/nut butters ■ Unsweetened yogurts,
■ Non-starchy vegetables whole if possible
Ex. tomatoes, cucumbers, ■ Fats (butters, oils)*
