Tips:
• Play scales very slowly with big bows keeping an even tone across the bow stroke
• Practice scales with a drone pitch (using the first note of the scale)
• Memorize the scales
• Occasionally use a tuner to help you tune each pitch
Minor Scales Cheat Sheet
• Harmonic minor – raise the 7th scale degree
• Melodic minor – raise the 6th and 7th scale degree (ascending), revert to
natural minor (descending)
