Financing Your MBA

WHARTON IS COMMITTED to assisting all students in finding the necessary
financial resources for their education. We believe it is imperative to approach financing your
MBA with a long-term vision, understanding that a Wharton MBA is an investment in
yourself and considering the value of your degree 5, 10 and 20 years after graduation.

In 1881, Joseph Wharton made a gift which established the world's first collegiate business
school — The Wharton School. Since that moment in time, philanthropy has played an
important role in the evolution of the School. Today, alumni and friends support Wharton
because they believe in the value of giving back and in supporting excellence in education. It
is through this generosity that student fellowships are available to eligible students.

Below are some financing options open to MBA students.

FELLOWSHIPS
Fellowships are open to all students; eligibility varies based on individual fellowship criteria.
All fellowships are awarded by the Financial Aid Office at the time of admission and the
Selection Committee awards fellowships to approximately 30 percent of first-year students;
Students who receive Wharton Fellowships in their first year are eligible to have the
fellowships renewed for their second year, provided they maintain good academic standing.

In addition to awards from the School, students may also receive funding from alumni
groups and other organizations. Moreover, some fellowship opportunities include
additional resources for students, such as mentorship from alumni in various fields such as
private equity.
