Maher Zain is a Lebanese-Swedish singer of modern Islamic music who was born in 1981 in Lebanon. He draws musical inspiration from his father, who was also a singer. Zain's family immigrated to Sweden when he was young and he now works in the music industry there. In 2009, Zain began recording an album with Awakening Records. His song "Palestine Will Be Free" brought him recognition as one of the seminal voices in modern Islamic music. Zain won Best Religious Song in 2010 and was named a Muslim Star of 2011.

MAHER ZAIN

Maher Zain is a new star of Modern


Islamic Music that was born on 16 July 1981 in
Lebanon. He is a singer with his meaningful
songs that aim to inspire and entertain people.
Maher’s first musical inspiration came from his
father, who was a singer himself, performing
locally in Lebanon.
Maher Zain's Lebanese family emigrated to Sweden when he was
eight. He completed his schooling there. After university, he entered the music
industry in Sweden.

In January 2009, Maher Zain began working on an album with


Awakening Records. Maher is fast becoming recognized as one of modern
Islamic Music’s seminal voices after his ground-breaking single and animated
music video “Palestine Will Be Free”.In January 2010, Maher Zain won Best
Religious Song for “Ya Nabi Salam Alayka”. Maher Zain was chosen as a
Muslim Star of 2011 in a competition, and he has appeared in the 40-episode
Indonesian TV drama.

After his experience in the music industry, Maher feels blessed to


able to finally find the right way, and put his talent to its best use.
