In our modern generation, when they hear the word millennials, they think of laziness and sometimes,
useless that is why they are called “the lost generation”. Maybe because they grew up with contemporary
technology, social networks and they are left with less responsibility, no kids, no works, they don’t have
worries just their studies, so they tend to be carefree with their lives. But there are still people who has
different way of thinking for the reason that they want to put their lives into different level and that would
change the prescription of many in the millennials today.
We all know that entrepreneurship is very important in every individual’s life because it is necessary for
us to make a living. And in today’s century, many of millennials starts to be entrepreneurs even at their
teenage years for the reason that they want to be practical in their lives. A new generation of
entrepreneurs has arrived and they are called “young entrepreneurs”. At the early age, they are starting
business and gaining profits by simply begin to sell little stuffs such as selling home-made foods in
schools or in community, inventing ‘do-it-yourself’ products and lastly, the online selling. Many of them
emerge while in their teens because of perseverance and hard work. Maybe they tend to start up being
entrepreneurs in order to support their finance, have their wants and be ready in the way they will start
their business in the future.
The purpose of this study is to observe and discover the factors that affecting millennials as young

Background of the Study
Nowadays, Millennials are continuously growing in their population and many of them take it as an
opportunity to sustain their education and to help out their families in their needs by selling. These
teenagers or millennials turns into entrepreneurs. According to Rishi Chowdhurry and Essaylead, Many
of rising entrepreneurs are young people under the age of 20 who are taking risks and launching new
innovative work for themselves. With the help of modern development in their environment while
growing up, many of them holds it and take it as an opportunity to have a simple business. As stated by
Ocie Irons and Cheryl Peters, Developing an entrepreneurial mindset in youth (young) is imperative to
prepare them for an ever changing economy. They are the future of every nation and the inheritance of
earth tomorrow (Management Study Guide).
However, according to Under30CEO, these young entrepreneurs faces many challenges while trying to
be a successful entrepreneur like financial problems, they don’t know how to start up a budget for their
selling. Second is the educational responsibilities, they need to have a well-organized time management
because they need to continue selling or promoting their products that will not affect their studies, being
young entrepreneur should not be a distraction at all. Next is social criticism, other people will criticize
their products or worse, them by just selling even though they are just students. They will discourage
these millennials. In this study, we will talk about this matter responsibly.
Entrepreneur in the Philippines was first used during the 16th century, denoting that an entrepreneur is a
person who undertakes a business venture and it was also diversified after the war and during the martial
law. At that moment, businesses grew larger than ever and develop into a massive one profitably. (Essay
