This document provides specifications for mean declination arrows to be used on geologic maps. It describes the design of the arrows, which point in the direction that magnetic north deviates from true north. The arrows are drawn at half-degree increments from 1 to 7.5 degrees to indicate the approximate mean declination for different regions in 1999.
