SS 845 Field Metallizing of Structural Steel

1. Specification:

SS 845

2. Materials

Metallizing wire shall conform to ASTM B833 with the 99.99% Zinc-UNS (Z13005)
composition.

Contractor to submit certified mill test reports for wire per CMS 101.03

2. Sampling and/or Inspection Requirements:

No sampling is required.

This is a field metallizing specification. Ensure contractor follows requirements set forth in each
Quality Control Point (QCP) enumerated in specification.

Ensure qualification tests (QCP #1) are performed by contractor before production begins.
Unless waived by the Engineer, all qualification tests should be witnessed by ODOT. The
contractor’s quality control specialist is required to witness all tests.
