Doctor Strange is a fictional character, a magician and superhero in Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in 1963. Doctor Strange was the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe until losing the title during the Dark Reign crossover, though he later regained it after the death of Brother Voodoo. As Sorcerer Supreme, he defends the Marvel universe from mystical threats by using his mastery of the mystic arts to battle evil magicians and other supernatural villains, and is also consulted by other superheroes on supernatural matters. A film based on the character and starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange was released by Marvel Studios on October 28, 2016

Doctor Strange, conocido en algunas traducciones como Doctor Extraño o Doctor Centella,

es un personaje ficticio de historieta, un mago y superhéroe de Marvel Comics. Creado por el


escritor y editor Stan Lee y el dibujante Steve Ditko, apareció por primera vez en el número
110 de Strange Tales (julio de 1963). Dos meses antes de su creación, este nombre había
sido usado por un personaje diferente de Marvel Comics.
El Dr. Stephen Strange era el Hechicero Supremo del universo de Marvel Comics hasta que
perdió su título en el crossover Dark Reign, aunque más tarde lo recuperaría tras la muerte de
Brother Voodoo (Doctor Voodoo, que se desempeñaba como el Hechicero Supremo). Es el
responsable de defender al universo Marvel de amenazas místicas. Es un maestro de
