These leave rules are subject to alteration / modification / review at the exclusive discretion of
the President either in part or whole, at anytime hereafter.
Leave cannot be claimed as a matter of right by any employee whatsoever, and when exigencies
of work so demand, leave of any description may be refused, postponed or reduced by authority
empowered to sanction leave.
Description according to Status of Job
1) Contract Period – 6 Months
2) Probation Period – 2 Years
3) Regular – After 2 years as per performance and Hon’ble President Discretion.
Sanctioning Authority
1) Unless otherwise stated, leave of all kinds for all Trainer / Technical staff shall be
sanctioned by President, Director and Respective Heads. President will be the sanctioning
authority of all kinds of leave for all administrative staff.
2) Special Casual leave shall be sanctioned by the President.
LEAVE RULES FOR TRAINER AND TECHNICAL STAFF MEMBERS
1) For Staff on Contract
A) 3 Casual leaves.
B) A maximum of 3 working days continuous leave of the kind due at a time can be
availed subject to prior sanction of competent authority.
C) Maximum 2 leaves against pending casual leave duly approved from reporting
authority. 3rd to 5th will be approved from director. Any leave taken after 5th
leave without approval of director leads to stuck of name from the register.
D) In case any staff member is absent from duty for more than 3 days without any
intimation shall be treated as break of service.
E) No resignation will be accepted.
F) Unutilized casual leave in any calendar year will lapse on 31st December every
year.
G) CPL's can be availed within 1 month.
2) For Probation
A) 12 days Casual leave per Annum.
B) A maximum of 3 working days continuous leave of the kind due at a time can be
availed subject to prior sanction of competent authority.
C) Maximum 2 leaves against pending casual leave duly approved from reporting
authority. 3rd to 5th will be approved from director. Any leave taken after 5th leave
without approval of director leads to stuck of name from the register.
D) In case any staff member is absent from duty for more than 3 days without any
intimation shall be treated as break of service.
E) 5 days in lieu of summer / winter vacation, it will be announced timely by the
President discretion.
F) Three months notice period or pay in lieu thereof, if resignation.
G) Unutilized casual leave in any calendar year will lapse on 31st December every year.
H) CPL's can be availed within 2 months.
3) For Regular / Confirmed
A) 15 days Casual leave per Annum.
B) A maximum of 5 working days continuous leave of the kind due at a time can be
availed subject to prior sanction of competent authority.
C) Maximum 2 leaves against pending casual leave duly approved from reporting
authority. 3rd to 5th will be approved from director. Any leave taken after 5th leave
without approval of director leads to stuck of name from the register.
D) In case any staff member is absent from duty for more than 3 days without any
intimation shall be treated as break of service.
E) 10 days in lieu of summer / winter vacation, it will be announced timely by the
President discretion.
F) Three months notice period or pay in lieu thereof, if resignation.
G) CPL's can be availed within 3 months.
H) Various other welfare benefits attached.
4) Leave should always be applied through proper channel and on the prescribed form and
should be accompanied with proper class arrangements and address while on leave.
5) In case of emergency and absence without prior sanction, the sanctioning authority should
be notified over the phone and “Post facto” sanction should be obtained within 24 hours of
date of leave failing which it shall be treated as leave without pay. Emergency leave can be
availed only once a month.
6) Leave taken but without (A) application and (B) leave message will be treated as leave
without pay and salary of 2 days per everyday of leave shall be deducted thereof.
7) Proportionate deduction / recovery will be made at the time of leaving the job if an
employee has availed CL in excess of his / her eligibility.
8) If leave taken on Friday or consecutive Monday, then Saturday and Sunday will also be
included with that leave.
9) For an official coming up to one hour late or leaving the Campus up to one hour early, shall
be so permitted twice a month only on the submission of an application justifying the delay
recommended by HEAD and to the acceptance of the competent authority. Short leave has
to be approved on same day. 3rd and 4th short leave/late entry will be considered as half
day. More than 4th short leave/late entry will be marked absent.
10) Before proceeding on leave, an employee shall intimate to the sanctioning authority his / her
address including email address and phone number, while he / she is on leave and shall keep
the said authority informed of any changes in address.
11) During the period of leave, an employee shall not take up or accept any employment or
work whether on remuneration or without remuneration.
12) Any employee on leave may be allowed to return to duty before the expiry of the sanctioned
leave provided he / she should notify the administration department in writing giving
reasons for resuming work before expiry of leave or for cancellation of leave duly approved
by the sanctioning authority.
13) If any employee resigns, he / she shall not be entitled to any further leave during the notice
period. Leave already credited into his / her account can availed subject to the approval of
sanctioning authority. Leave taken during resignation period leads to salary deduction of 2
days against 1 day.
14) Salary of staff member will be with held if he / she is absent without intimation for more
than 3 days. Salary in such cases can be released only after specific approval by the
President.
15) Casual leave can be taken for half day also but it will not be a regular practice.
16) If any employee needs Medical leave then medical certificate shall be presented or
forwarded to the granting authority.
17) All the disputes will be under Jurisdiction of Mohali Courts Only.
Where Society is satisfied that the operation of any of these rules causes
undue hardship in any particular case, the Society, may by order, for reasons to be recorded in
writing, dispense with or relax the requirement of that rule to such extent and subject to such
exceptions and conditions as it may consider necessary for dealing with the case in a just and
equitable manner with concurrence of the Board of Management.
