Heart Function and Anatomy Report

The heart is the most important organ in the body and is the size of a closed fist. It beats 70 times per minute to pump blood throughout the body. The heart has four chambers - the right and left atria on top and the right and left ventricles on bottom. Deoxygenated blood enters the heart, is pumped to the lungs to receive oxygen, then enters the left chambers to be pumped back out into the body, carrying oxygenated blood. This cycle repeats continuously.
