HARANS (DEDUCTIONS) AND BHARANS ( ADDITION ) IN LONGEVITY ....

1 ) HARANS ( DEDUCTIONS ) :-

a) CHAKRAPATH HARAN :- ( Reduction due to placement of planets in six houses from 12th to 7th* ) -
Reduction will be maximum , if a planet is present in Twelth House and progressively less as they occupy
subsequent Houses . Benefics causes half the loss as compared to malefics .

NOTE :- 1) When there are many planets in a designated House , only strongest will suffer reduction .
Strongest means according to Shad Bal .( In examinations , if Shad Bal of planets is not provided then due to
the planet higher in Longitude * ) .
2) The Moon and Mercury are not considered malefics for this reduction .

b) ASTA ANGAT HARAN :- ( A reduction consequent upon Combustion ) - Planets when becomes closer to
the Sun become Combust . Their limits ( Orbs ) are as :-
i) Moon - Within 12* of the Sun .
ii) Mars - Within 17* of the Sun .
iii) Mercury - Within 14* of the Sun when direct and 12* of the Sun when Retrograde .
iv) Jupiter - Within 11* of the Sun .
v) Venus - Within 10* of the Sun when direct and 08* of the Sun when Retrograde .
vi) Saturn - Within 15* of the Sun .

A Combust planet loses half ( 1/2 ) of their life life contributed years remaining after Chakrapath reduction .

NOTE :- Saturn and Venus are exceptions and are not subjected to reductions on this account .

c) SHATRU SHETRA HARAN :- ( Reduction due to presence in Inimical ( Enemy's) House ) - One third ( 1/3
) of the contributed years of age after Astangat Haran will be lost , if a planet has occupied a enemy's House *
.
NOTE :- Retrograde planets are excptions and are not subjected to reduction on this account .

d) KROORDAYA HARAN :- ( Reduction due to occupation of Natural Malefics in Lagna ( Ascendant ) ) . This
reduction will be applicable , if Malefics Sun , Mars or Saturn are present in Lagna .

Method :- i) After expunging Signs , convert the Longitude of Lagna , degree etc. into Minutes .
ii) Multiply the above Minutes by the age contributed by the planet , received after Shatru Shetra Haran* .
iii) Divide the multiplied value by 21,600 .
iv) The quotient received after division is reduced from the total life span received after Shatru Shetra Haran * .

NOTE :- 1) If Malefics occupies the Lagna and there is aBenefic aspect on it then only half ( 1/2 ) of the
reuction is applied .
2) If Lagna is occupied by Benefics as well as Malefics then the planet near to the Mid Cusp has to be
considered .
i) If Malefics - Half (1/2 ) reduction .
ii) If Benefic . No reduction .
iii) R / K axis is not considered .
iv) Malefic Lagna Lord in Lagna - No reduction .

2) BHARANS ( Additions ) :-

a) If a planet is Exalted or Retrograde , then Trebeled ( 3 Times ) the contributed age of the planet .
b) If a planet is Vargottama , Own House , Own Navamsha or Own Dreshkane , then Doubled ( 2 Times ) the
contributed age of the planet .

NOTE :- If multiple applications crop up in a Horoscope then only one which is Highest has to be taken in
considration* .
