DEEN DAYAL SPARSH YOJANA (ministry of communication)
The Government has launched a pan India scholarship program for school children called Deen
Dayal SPARSH Yojana to increase the reach of Philately.
SPARSH - Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude &Research in Stamps as a Hobby
Under this scheme it is proposed to award annual scholarships to children of Standard VI to IX
having good academic record and also pursuing Philately as a hobby through a competitive
selection process in all postal circles.Every Postal Circle will select a maximum of 40 scholarships
representing 10 students each from Standard VI, VII, VIII & IX. The amount of Scholarship will be
Rs. 6000/- per annum @ Rs. 500/- per month.To avail this scholarship, a child must be a student
of a recognized school within India and the concerned school should have a Philately Club and
the candidate should be a member of the Club. · In case, the school Philately Club has not
been established, a student having his own Philately Deposit Account will also be considered. ·
Every prospective school, which participates in the competition, would be assigned a Philately
mentor to be chosen from amongst the renowned Philatelists.

NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK

Board under Ministry of Women and Child Development. The main objective to celebrate
nutrition week is to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition for health which has an
impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately National development
The theme of the National Nutrition Week for 2017 is "Optimal Infant & Young Child Feeding
Practices: Better Child Health".
SWACHCHTA hi seva campaign
The government on September 15 launched fortnight-long ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ (Cleanliness is
Service) campaign. It will run from September 15 to October 2, 2017. The campaign is aimed at
highlighting the government’s flagship cleanliness initiative ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’. The
campaign includes urging national teams of various sports including cricket, hockey, football and
badminton to adopt and clean up a slum. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation is
coordinating the initiative. It will include ‘sharamdaan’ or voluntary work and will focus on mass
mobilisation and reinforce ‘janandolan’ for sanitation to contribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s dream
of a clean India. The campaign has made elaborate plans to reach out to poor and marginalised
and provide them with sustainable sanitation services.The government has identified special
dates during the campaign period, with 17 September being reserved for voluntary work and
cleanliness and construction of toilets.
City Liveability Index’ to Rank Indian Cities
The Ministry of Urban Development launched the ‘City Liveability Index’ for measuring the
quality of life in 116 major cities including smart cities, capital cities, and cities with a population
of above one million each. The first-of-its-kind index will enable the cities know where they
stand in terms of the quality of life and the interventions required to improve it. The cities will be
assessed on a comprehensive set of 79 parameters, including availability of roads, education,
healthcare, mobility, employment opportunities, emergency response, grievance redressal,
pollution, availability of open and green spaces, cultural and entertainment opportunities. ·
The ranking will be released in 2018.

SEEKHO AUR KAMAO( minority affairs)
This is a placement linked skill development scheme for minorities aiming to upgrade the skills of
minority youth in various modern/traditional skills depending upon their qualification, present
economic trends and market potential, which can earn them suitable employment or make them
suitably skilled to go for self-employment. The scheme ensures placements of minimum 75%
trainees, out of which at least 50% placement is in organized sector. The scheme is implemented
through selected Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) all over the country including Kerala.
JIYO PARSI SCHEME
it is central sector scheme for containing the decline of parsis in india. and reverses it to bring
their population above the threshold level. (The government has launched Jiyo Parsi Publicity
Phase-2, under Jiyo Parsi Scheme)by adopting a scientific protocol and structured interventions,
stabilize their population and increase the population of Parsis in India.
Scheme has two components- Medical Assistance and Counselling/Advocacy.The scheme has
been successful and so far 101 babies have been born in Parsi community through ―Jiyo Parsi‖
scheme. · Jiyo Parsi Publicity Phase-1 was initiated in 2013.

SHe-box-This Sexual Harassment electronic Box (SHe-Box) is an effort of GoI to provide a single
window access to every woman, irrespective of her work status, whether working in organised
or unorganised, private or public sector, to facilitate the registration of complaint related to
sexual harassment. Any woman facing sexual harassment at workplace can register their
complaint through this portal. Once a complaint is submitted to the ‘SHe-Box’, it will be directly
sent to the concerned authority having jurisdiction to take action into the matter.
The complaint management system has been developed to ensure the effective implementation
of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act (the
SH Act), 2013
== CAMPAIGN on WOMEN FOR WOMEN
The Ministry of Women and Child Development, in an attempt to end Gender bias in women
against women, is undertaking an online campaign #IamThatWoman.
*Through the campaign, the Ministry seeks to highlight the various aspects of women standing
'by' and 'for' women
. · Through this campaign, the Ministry aims to shed light on the enormous contributions made
by women for women. A mother-in-law can be her daughter-in-law's best companion. A woman
manager can easily empathise with her female juniors and help her climb the ladder of success.
· Ministry of WCD has urged people to shun stereotypes associated with women harming
other women.
· Twitter and Facebook users have been encouraged to tag and share stories of women helping
women with a photograph and post online with the hashtag #IamThatWoman.
PAIKA REBELLION

PARYATAN PARV
The Ministry of Tourism hasstarted ‘Paryatan Parv’ a 20-day programme (from 5th October to
25th October 2017). It has been organised with the aim of drawing attention on the benefits of
tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of
“Tourism for All”. · The programme is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism, in
collaboration with other Central Ministries, State Governments and stakeholders.

Dekho Apna Desh: To encourage Indians to visit their own country.It will include video,
photograph and blog competitions visited during event, stories of India through Travelers’ Eyes
to promote travel to J&K and North Eastern States.
Tourism for All: Tourism Events at sites across all States in the country. This will be mainly
people’s event.
Tourism & Governance: Interactive Sessions & Workshops with Stakeholders on varied themes –
such as Skill Development in Tourism Sector, Innovation in Tourism etc. – will be conducted.

amplify solutions, experiments and innovations that are underway, and is being attempted in the
areas of teacher training and professional development. States and TEIs have the autonomy and
choice to repurpose and extend DIKSHA to suit their own needs and purposes. DIKSHA is for the
benefit of Teachers in Schools, Teacher Educators and Student Teachers in Teacher Education
Institutes (TEIs).DIKSHA is MHRD’s national digital platform for teachers which offers resources
for teaching, learning, and professional development. DIKSHA provides open, modular and
scalable technology that state governments and other organizations can seamlessly integrate
with their respective teacher-centric initiatives.
SHAGUN PORTAL-- Shala Gunvatta (Shagun) Portal is a twin track approach to monitor progress
of implementation of the various components while also capturing and sharing of best practices
from States and UTs. The portal has two parts
Online monitoring-will capture the progress in implementation. Regular updates of progress will
be available through dashboards to the Ministry and States for internal monitoring. Some
reports would also be available in the public domain.
SSA Repository is a repository of innovative practices, success stories, evaluation reports, and
interventions initiated across all the States and Union Territories in the area of Elementary
Education.

Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The aim of the Campaign is to
make a barrier free and conducive environment for Divyangjans all over the country.
For creating universal accessibility for Persons with Disabilities, the campaign has been divided
into three verticals: Built Environment; Transport and Information & Communication Technology
(ICT) ecosystem.
