Impeller
Low and Medium Shear

The axial flow turbine is a classic medium shear impeller. This impeller
type allows a mixer to the break up agglomerations and impart
solids effectively. Each blade is pitched at a 45 degree angle and

Impeller
High Shear

Dispersion Blades rotate at high RPMs to facilitate the quick impartation of solids at a fine
grind. The liquid contacts the blade and moves outward to flow over the teeth and break the
agglomerations into increasingly smaller particles. Typically used in paints and inks, they are
now being used in a variety of industries for increased efficiency. High Flow blades include
axial flow vanes to increase pumping in high viscosities. Ultra Shear blades include a unique
surface geometry at the blade tip to facilitate even higher levels of shear. All blades are

miniature folding paddles. All impellers are 316SS.
Our folding impellers are medium shear, special purpose impellers sized to fit into standard container
openings. Folding impellers allow a manufacturer to get a large impeller into a closed container. 4” LIM0A130
and 7” impellers can fold down to fit through a 2” NPT fitting and 10”, 12” and 14” impellers can fit
through a 6” NPT like that on an IBC Tote. Some efficiency is sacrificed in this process, but sufficient
agitation can now be accomplished in areas that were otherwise inaccessible to mixing equipment.
