What is construction industry?


 The branch of manufacture and trade based on the building,
maintaining, and repairing structures. This includes drilling and solid
mineral exploration.

CONSTRUCTION: A DYNAMIC INDUSTRY

The construction industry is divided into three major area:

 Building construction - involves erection of a building on a piece of


property.

 Heavy Construction - is the term used for larger infrastructure projects,


such as highways, bridges, canals, dams, subway, tunnels, utility piping
systems, water control construction, and communications networks.

 Industrial construction – refers to the buildings of large-scale


manufacturing, and processing plants or utility installations.
