1) Create Material (MM01):

Material Type- Raw Material
Copy from existing material

Necessary tabs

MRP1:
Fill in UOM
MRP Type – ND (PPC later on assigns VB (Manual Re-order point planning) based on
requirement for MRP run for Currently-used materials)
Planning Time fence – (PPC / MRP controller changes this field later based on MRP type
selected)
Planning cycle – (Only used in case of Time-based MRP Planning)
Minimum Lot size – (Fill, if reqd)

MRP2:
Procurement Type – F(External), E (Internal), X (Both ext and int)
GR Processing Time – (generally 5 days – per Stores SLA)
Planned Delivery Time – (Date can be selected if needed)
Safety Stock and Service Level % (Mandatory fields for Automatic Re-order point based MRP,
not Manual)

MRP3:
Period Indicator-“M”
Strategy Group – “10” (for Make-to-Stock planning)

MRP4:
Selection Method – “3” (for Selection by Production version only)
Individual / Collective – “XX” (based on whether individual planned orders are needed or
collective)
Store Location – “XX” (can be assigned if defined internally)

Work Scheduling:
Production Scheduler – (Needed for doing MRP run – MRP controller/PPC does it)

**Mandatory Fields: Valuation Category, Batch Management, Base Unit of Measure


The mandatory fields can’t be changed at a later stage. If requirement comes up, new
material code needs to be created.
