Dear Stakeholder

Stakeholder Consultation on converting to Academy status and subsequently joining a Multi

Academy Trust

As you will now be aware, our Headteacher, Miss Dring, will be leaving Worsbrough Common at the
end of October. Given the imminent change in leadership and the significant changes to the
educational landscape in recent years, the Governing Body of Worsbrough Common Primary School
are committed to exploring all options that will help us to appoint a highly skilled and exceptional
headteacher for the school.

After careful consideration, the Governing Body have decided that it is the best interests of the school
and our learners to explore conversion to Academy status and joining with a Multi Academy Trust. We
believe this would bring many advantages to the school including
 continued autonomy to develop our school & Daycare according to our inclusive ethos
 strengthening access to partnership working and collaborative support for the school
 allowing school leaders to focus more on developing Teaching & Learning
 providing better access to high quality professional development and support for all staff
 enjoying greater curriculum freedom to ensure our learners are taught more of what they need
to prepare for their next stage in learning

At this stage, we are not committing the school to conversion to Academy status or to join any
particular trust. We are seeking the views of learners; parents and carers; staff and their union
representatives; partner schools; the local community and all other interested parties or stakeholders
before Governors meet again to make a further decision.

We would like to know what you think. We invite you to share your views and submit any comments
or questions you may have. We also invite you to let us know what you would like to see from a Multi
Academy Trust. The responses to this consultation will be used to further assess the case for
proceeding with academy conversion and joining a MAT.
