A cantilever beam with a point load applied at the free end is analyzed. Analytical and numerical solutions are provided. The analytical solution calculates a deflection of 0.120663 m at the free end under a 10,000 N point load applied at the end of a 4 m beam made of steel. The numerical solution uses finite elements to model the beam, applying different mesh sizes, and calculates deflections ranging from 0.119788529416 to 0.148503759551 m.
