Today, we will reveal the amazing experience of Vernon Johnston, who used baking soda
to combat 4th stage cancer. His progress is documented on his blog and is available for

Consequently, Vernon decided to examine this treatment and the way it works. While
doing so, he came across another, extremely simple, and inexpensive treatment, using
baking soda.
Baking soda is used to raise the pH levels, to soothe itching caused by skin allergies, to
prevent scars and blisters due to its antiseptic properties, and in many other cases.
So, every single day, Vernon mixed baking soda, which serves as an antacid, with maple
syrup and consumed this mixture.
The way baking soda works is also quite simple: it neutralizes the body’s acidity, so it
increases the pH levels in the body. Due to it, this treatment is effective in inhibiting
cancer.
Namely, cancer cells need an acidic environment in order to live, so an alkaline
environment will logically starve them, and their growth will be prevented.
Moreover, the intravenous injection of sodium bicarbonate will make it closer to the
tumor, compared to oral administration, but a safer and inexpensive option are some oral
medications are more available.

Today’s house call focuses on a topic very personal to me.
“Mark, what would you do if you were diagnosed with cancer?” a friend recently asked.
I’ve had a lot of time to think about this. I’ve sadly seen a lot of cancer in my life, both
with my own family and with patients.
The problem is that conventional medicine protocols have a lot wrong when it comes to
cancer. We are good at cutting it, burning it, and poisoning it with surgery, radiation, and
drugs, but many doctors fail to treat the cause of the cancer.
You see, conventional medicine focuses on naming diseases based on geography, body
location, and specialty, instead of by the cause, mechanism, or pathway involved.
Doctors say you have liver, kidney, brain, or heart disease, but this approach to naming
disease tells you nothing about the cause.
Instead of asking what disease you have and what drug should be used to treat it, we must
ask WHY the disease has occurred. What are the underlying causes that lead to illness?
Modern medicine approaches illness like a mechanic trying to diagnose what’s wrong
with your car by listening to the noises it makes and never looking inside to see what’s
going on. Functional Medicine allows us to look under the hood. It gives us a method for
identifying the conditions in which disease thrives and shows us how to begin changing
those conditions.
A Functional Medicine Approach to Cancer
Functional medicine empowers patients and practitioners to achieve the highest
expression of health by working collaboratively to address the root causes of disease. It is
an emerging, personalized model of diagnosis and treatment that better addresses the
need to prevent and manage chronic disease. In a word, it is the medicine of WHY, not
WHAT.
Functional Medicine doctors are like soil farmers. They create a healthy soil, so pests
can’t come and weeds can’t flourish. A healthy soil means disease can’t take hold.
So with cancer, a Functional Medicine practitioner would say that yes, we still need
radiation and other conventional approaches, but what else can we do? How can we
properly cultivate a healthy soil?
Cancer results because of in an imbalance in the system. So many people are walking
around with tumors and don’t know it. We can do something to prevent them from
growing by maintaining a healthy soil.
Instead of dividing everything into diseases and labels, emerging science points to a
different way of thinking about diseases. Rather than divide the body into organs,
Functional Medicine approaches disease as a systemic problem, and we have to treat the
system, not the symptom; the cause, not the disease. This completely redefines the whole
notion of disease. The landscape of illness is changing.
How we label cancer is no longer synced up with what we know about the origins of
cancer or the fact that two people who have cancer with the same name—like breast
cancer—can have two completely different diseases which require different treatments.
Just because you know the name of your disease doesn’t mean you know what’s wrong
with you or what to do about it.
Classifying tumors by body site — lung, liver, brain, breast, colon, etc. — misses the
underlying causes, mechanisms, and pathways involved in a particular cancer. What’s
more, it gives us no information about how it manifested in a given patient. Two people
with cancers in different parts of the body may have developed it for the same reasons.
Similarly, two people with cancers in the same part of the body may have developed it for
different reasons. A patient with prostate cancer and one with colon cancer may have
more in common with each other than two patients who have colon cancer.
We need to look under the hood and find out what caused the illness to begin with.
Cultivating a Healthy Soil
Numerous things can contribute to cancer. Studies show diet, exercise, thoughts, feelings,
and environmental toxins all influence the initiation, growth, and progression of cancer.
If a nutrient-poor diet full of sugar, lack of exercise, chronic stress, persistent pollutants,
and heavy metals can cause cancer, could it be that a nutrient-dense, plant-based diet,
physical activity, changing thoughts and reactions to stress, and detoxification might treat
the garden in which cancer grows?
In other words, treat the soil, not the plant. It is a foundational principle of sustainable
agriculture, and of sustainable health.
We can enhance immune function and surveillance through dietary and lifestyle changes,
as well as nutrient and phytonutrient therapies. We can facilitate our body’s own
detoxification system to promote the elimination of carcinogenic compounds. We can
improve hormone metabolism and reduce the carcinogenic effects of too much insulin
(more on that in a minute) from our high sugar and refined carbohydrate diet.
We can also alter how our genes are expressed by changing the inputs that control that
expression: Diet, nutrients, phytonutrients, toxins, stress, and other sources of
inflammation. And we can focus on less divisive and more generative thoughts that, in
turn, create more uplifting emotions — all good fertilizer for the soil in the garden of our
body.
5 Strategies to Reduce Cancer Formation and Growth
Cancer results from an imbalance in our system where the immune system can’t fight off
tumors. We can do many things to prevent that cancer from getting to its full stage, and if
you have cancer, you can make your body inhospitable to that cancer.
Ditch sugar. Sugar feeds cancer and creates diabesity. The average American consumes
about 152 pounds of sugar a year and about 146 pounds of flour a year. Diabesity affects
over 1.7 billion people worldwide. Scientists conservatively estimate it will affect one in
two Americans by 2020; 90 percent of whom will not be diagnosed. The number one
thing you can do to prevent or control cancer is to control insulin levels with a high-fiber
diet rich in real, fresh, whole foods and minimize or eliminate sugary, processed, insulin-
raising foods.
Dr. Dean Ornish showed that after just three months on an intensive lifestyle program
including a whole-foods, plant-based diet, over 500 genes that regulate cancer were
beneficially affected, either turning off the cancer-causing genes or turning on the cancer-
protective genes. No medication can do that.
Eliminate food sensitivities. In a major study in the Journal of the American Medical
Association, hidden gluten sensitivity was shown to increase risk of death by 35 to 75
percent, mostly by causing heart disease and cancer. By just this mechanism alone, more
than 20 million Americans are at risk for heart attack, obesity, cancer, and death. Dairy
and gluten are the most common triggers of food allergies that are linked to insulin
resistance. Cutting them out of the diet allows the inflamed gut and an inflamed body to
heal.
Reduce inflammation. Inflammation is the common thread connecting most chronic
disease including cancer. In fact, out-of-control inflammation causes insulin resistance,
which, as we now know, is the main factor in all these diseases apart from autoimmunity
and allergy. The insulin resistance then creates even more inflammation, and the whole
biological house burns down. Besides removing sugar and food sensitivities like gluten
and dairy, we want to eat plenty of anti-inflammatory foods, including omega-3 rich
foods like wild fish and flaxseeds.
Improve gut health. Cancer often originates in your gut. Not just colon cancer, but with
many cancers. We are currently studying about the gut microbiome and breast and
prostate cancers. Beyond avoiding inflammatory foods, adding in probiotics, prebiotics,
and lots of phytonutrients, like curcumin (found in turmeric) and resveratrol (found in
grapes), can reduce gut-based inflammation.
Reduce toxic exposure. The average newborn has 287 chemicals in her umbilical cord
blood, 217 of which are neurotoxic (poisonous to nerves or nerve cells). The chemicals
these infants are exposed to include pesticides, phthalates, bisphenol A, flame retardants,
and heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and arsenic. These chemicals have a broad range
of negative effects on human biology; they damage the nervous system and increase the
risk of cancer, and now they have been shown to contribute to obesity. Going clean and
green means becoming more aware about how environmental toxins affect your health. I
encourage you to visit the Environmental Working Group (EWG) to learn more.
Change your thoughts to change your immune system. This bonus strategy is often
overlooked, but it’s just as important as the other strategies above. Science is now
proving what we all knew intuitively — that how we live, the quality of our relationships,
the food we eat, and how we use our bodies determines much more than our genes ever
will. There are numerous strategies to combat or prevent cancer, including getting
sufficient sleep, controlling stress levels, and exercising regularly.
The important thing is to figure out what works for you and develop a plan to stick with
it. That might involve working with a Functional Medicine doctor or a chronic disease
specialist.
Conclusion
Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer or have become concerned about family
and friends being diagnosed, the most important thing is mindset and not playing into
fear.
While we all hope there will one day be a miracle cure for cancer, there are things that we
know now will combat cancer or keep our quality of life high while our body is fighting
the cancer.
The science of cancer genetics is changing. Two people who have the same cancer could
be completely different in terms of how the cancer performs. That’s why I’m very excited
about the work that Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong is doing in California on the cancer genome
and creating targeted therapies to treat the cancer in every patient individually. This and
other emerging technologies, combined with the Functional Medicine approach to cancer,
give me great hope about our ability to further prevent and treat this disease in the future.
Cancer is scary, but there is almost always something you can do to improve your

sick and the laws that are supposed to ‘protect’ us do not permit the right treatment of the
disease. They make you sick as ever and finally you are drawn to your death because of
the poisonous, hazardous and harsh treatment. Our experience shows that any cancer can
be treated in 2-16 weeks; there are types of cancer that can be treated in minutes.
Any doctor in the world, with at least 20 years practice, has witnessed the cases of
spontaneous healing – there is even a book about this: Spontaneous healing. Since this is
possible, it is just a manner of finding a way to achieve this. Very often religious people
go to some place for healing, but the place itself does not heal, the hope and the positive
attitude do the healing.
First, we need to deal with the acidity and toxicities. A body should be filled with oxygen
that is the reason why when we consume vegetables, i.e. chlorophyll, the body is reach in
oxygen, has enough calcium, and by proper diet with food supplements that contain
microelements we alkalize the body. As soon as the body alkalizes, the progress of cancer
stops.
The body must achieve healing pH level. pH level varies from 0 to 14. Seventh level is
the neutral, and the body should become alkaline on that level. Level 7.36 is good, but
during the treatment the body should reach рН 7.5 and even higher.
Doctor Martin, my good friend from Germany, offers multi step oxygen therapy – he
takes out blood, enriches it with ionized oxygen and re-injects it in the body, 12 times; the
resulting effect is that the body gets completely fresh blood – as blood of a newborn
baby; this way hypoxia gets eliminated; when blood is taken out from the body it is
almost black in color, but when is re-injected is almost pink, it is like natural doping;
when a man gets it in the body, he fills with energy and life force.
Injection of vitamin C, that I and my European colleagues practice, is in fact our
knowledge of “intravenous” injection of vitamin C, 100 cc per day, three times a week,
and in some cases we injected even more frequently. But very often, believe it or not, the
cancer or tumor practically disappears in few days, since vitamin C is very effective; it is
one of the miracle cures.
Vitamin E mostly helps with problems related to the blood pressure – it is treated very
fast and easy in any form or type, therefore a research with artificial vitamin E,
chemically produced, was conducted and it was concluded that it is absolutely ineffective
– chemicals are ineffective, just harmful; nature is the thing that really works – the
diseases occur in the nature – and the nature gives the solutions of the problems – as
simple as that.
If something didn't exist 100 years ago, there is no need for it to exist today. If we want to
cure cancer, we must immediately start with consumption of vegetarian and raw food. My
friend, who is a chef, wrote a book for preparation of raw food, it costs only few dollars,
and on his web site you will find videos how to prepare the meals.
I would like to stress that together with the raw food, you should drink 4 liters of water
(except in cases when patient suffers from rare kidney disease), with ½ teaspoon sea salt
– salt is needed for all functions in the body, for the necessary electrical impulses, and it
happens only with sufficient quantity of salt in the body. Salt deficiency creates problem
with the blood system. Some say that you should not consume lot of salt in case of high
blood pressure – that is how we were taught – but the opposite is correct.
The problem is the table salt – very often it contains one third glass, one third sand and
one third salt. The glass and the sand irritate the arteries that start bleeding. Therefore,
cholesterol builds up on the arteries in order to stop the bleeding, so you don’t die from
internal bleeding.
That is the reason why they say that the cholesterol causes high blood pressure and it is
the reason for the narrowing of the arteries. This is a complete absurd, since we cannot
die from excess of cholesterol, but from cholesterol deficiency. Some people have
cholesterol 60 and yet are completely healthy and never had a disease in their life.
How doctors treat burns – they give them 20-25 cooked eggs since they know that only
cholesterol can produce new healthy cell very fast; approximately 87 percent of our body
cells are built from the cholesterol; in case of low level of cholesterol our body cannot
produce new cells.
They say bad and good cholesterol – “HDL” and “LDL”; this is not cholesterol – proteins
are carriers of cholesterol – we start to understand the words of Dr. Gary Neal and others,
who say that according to the statistics the doctors have the shortest life span – they live
56 years, they suffer from alcoholism, drug abuse, as well as has the highest rate of
suicides – it is higher only with psychiatrist – and yet we go to ask them how to live
longer, happier and healthier life. I believe that you should change your opinion.”

¿Doctor, cómo se trata a un paciente de cáncer con medicina biorreguladora y cuáles son
los resultados que está obteniendo?
Desde el año 2002, se conoce con exactitud lo que es la biología de las células
cancerígenas. Las células en general tienen tres características: el ph, el consumo de
oxígeno y la temperatura. Sabemos que la célula normal tiene un ph alcalino, o sea sobre
7.2, consume oxígeno y vive a una temperatura de más menos 37 grados. Por su parte, la
célula cancerígena vive en un ambiente ácido, no consume oxígeno y vive a temperatura
fría, entre 8 y 10 grados.
Por lo tanto, todo lo que nosotros hacemos desde el punto de vista biológico está
enfocado en estas tres características: 1° cambiar la acidez a alcalinidad, 2° agregarle
oxígeno a la célula cancerígena y 3° aumentar la temperatura a 37°.
Ahora, la clave de todo esto es la acidez, es decir todos los esfuerzos para el tratamiento
del cáncer tienen que estar dirigidos a mejorar la acidez, porque ésta es la condición que
tiene la célula cancerígena de sobrevivir. La MEC (la matriz extracelular), lo que
anteriormente se conocía como tejido conjuntivo, juega un papel extremadamente
importante en todo este proceso, ya que el cuerpo se divide entre la parte intracelular, la
extracelular y vascular.
La célula cancerígena muta para vivir en condiciones de acidez e hipoxia y vive a baja
temperatura. De hecho el cáncer es reversible. En la alopatía no existe el concepto de
matric, entonces no hay opción de detoxicación. A propósito del cáncer, cuando se hizo el
estudio desde la OMS en función a los resultados del cáncer, se dijo que desde la
medicina alopática se tenían tres formas de tratar el cáncer: por cirugía, por quimioterapia
y por radioterapia. En el estudio se habló también del éxito y el fracaso de estas tres
terapias: la cirugía tiene un 50% de éxito y 50% de fracaso, la quimioterapia, por su
parte, tiene un 7% de éxito y un 93% de fracaso y la radioterapia un 8% de éxito y un
92% de fracaso.
¿Por qué estos resultados tan bajos?
Hoy día se sabe, que lo que hace la quimio y la radio es que aumenta la acidez y la
hipoxia y disminuye la temperatura, que son las precisamente las tres condiciones que
favorecen la presencia de la célula cancerosa. Lo que la radio y la quimioterapia
producen es la intoxicación de matric y si la matric (MEC) se desvirtúa y no actúa como
un espejo resonador nítido, sino que hay interferencias, la célula tiene que volver a mutar
para sobrevivir en esa condición. Entonces hoy día, para la medicina biorreguladora, el
cáncer es un mecanismo de sobrevivencia. Cuando el médico biorregulador entiende eso,
entiende el cáncer.
¿Qué elementos son los que usted considera los más generadores de acidez?
Los seres humanos somos energía envuelta en piel, por lo tanto somos entes energéticos
¿Cómo se alimenta la energía? En un 70% alimentación y la mitad de eso 35% agua, 20%
oxígeno y 10% luz solar. Entonces el peso, el 70% lo tiene lo que entra por boca, la mitad
es alimento y la otra mitad es agua.
Si nosotros quisiéramos desarrollar políticas de mejoría de verdad de la Salud Pública,
deberíamos desarrollar políticas de alimentación y de agua. Pero, ya no de la
potabilización del agua, sino todo lo que el agua contrae, porque el agua trae además
metales pesados. El grueso del acidez lo hace la alimentación y la ingesta de agua. El
agua debería tener un ph neutro, pero en Chile no lo tiene, tiene un ph ácido. Por eso, es
que nosotros estamos promulgando el uso de agua alcalina.
¿Cómo consigue mutar la acidez de la célula cancerosa?
Con respecto a la alimentación, existe el concepto introducido por el doctor Barry Sears,
que se basó en un hecho que los pacientes le relataban: "doctor yo no como tanto, pero
engordo". Entonces, Sears se dedicó a contar calorías y proteínas y se dio cuenta que la
persona aún comiendo menos, seguía engordando. Ahí entendió que ese no era el
problema, sino que tenía que ver con el proceso inflamatorio.
Nosotros debemos consumir alimentos no inflamatorios, porque cuando los consumimos
aumentamos la acidez. La clave está en descubrir cuáles son los alimentos que te
inflaman. En ese punto hemos llegado a dos conocimientos fundamentales, por un lado,
el 80% de la población del mundo tiene intolerancia a la leche y el 75% al gluten.
Nosotros tenemos genética de hace millones de años, pero el advenimiento de la
agricultura que es muy posterior desarrolló la producción de la leche que es un elemento
tremendamente "acidótico" y por esa razón el cáncer continúa como mecanismo de
sobrevivencia. Ese cambio de switch es el que hace la diferencia.
Por ese motivo, mi principal objetivo es descubrir cuáles son esos alimentos
inflamatorios y cuáles no. Hay un análisis que desarrollamos aquí en la clínica con un
equipo que se llama Lapitex, a través del cual podemos detectar metales pesados y saber
de forma muy rápida cuáles son los alimentos inflamatorios y cuáles no. En un minuto
evalúa 213 alimentos y en cada paciente es distinto el resultado.
Otro de los equipos que utilizamos es el oligoscan que te permite la determinación de
metales pesados, mide los oligoelementos y los minerales. Hoy día el conocimiento está,
pero no se explica y tampoco existen modelos de trabajo que te permitan decir que hay
otra medicina que se está desarrollando y que está obteniendo resultados.
Algunos de los consejos para reducir el riesgo de cáncer es llevar una dieta
antiinflamatoria, evitar leche y lácteos en general, azúcar y cambiar la sal de mesa por la
sal marina, además de evitar los carbohidratos, harinas, carnes rojas y de cerdo. Y de
hecho con este puro cambio alimenticio, la gente con artritis y artrosis mejoran
ostensiblemente. También es extremadamente importante el uso de agua alcalina para
evitar la acidez. En Japón han distribuido este tipo de agua en la red y han reducido de
forma importante el porcentaje de cáncer gástrico entre la población. Además hay que
introducir el concepto de drenaje, que hoy día no es está muy extendido, al menos en
Chile.
¿Cómo llegan los pacientes de cáncer a la medicina biorreguladora?
A la medicina biorreguladora llegan pacientes que han sido desahuciados de la medicina
alopática, entonces nosotros hacemos muchas cosas, pero los hilos conductores son
cambiar la acidez, la hipoxia y la temperatura. Antiguamente, la tecnología señalaba que
tú podías mejorar la temperatura a través de la medicina más antigua del mundo que es la
moxibustión, una moxa hecha con la planta de Artemisa, que se hace en puntos de
acupuntura y que consigue elevar la temperatura.
¿Cuál es su especialidad en este centro médico?
Cuando uno entra en la causalidad, uno encuentra que las causas en las enfermedades son
comunes y la variable de enfermarte o no va a depender de lo que llamamos epigenética.
Es decir, todos tenemos un transfondo genético pero también tenemos un ambiente y si
ese ambiente codifica para una enfermedad nos enfermamos. Todos tenemos un sustrato
genético, pero tú te puedes enfermar o no y no depende de la edad, sino del ambiente. Si
