COURSE OVERVIEW

What comes to mind when you hear the word BIOLOGY? Words like medicine,
plants, animals, humans, are typical things that most people think of. You aren’t
wrong if you thought of any of those words mentioned above, but in reality,
Biology is so much more than that. Biology is the science of life and of living
organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution and
distribution.

In this course we will be covering everything from viruses and bacteria, to plants
and animals. While you may not see the connection between some of the topics
listed above, throughout the year there are three themes that will be used to
connect all of our ideas together:

ii) Evolutionary Relationships

iii) Ecological Relationships
