FUN HOME Audition Packet for Grandstreet Theatre Audition Dates Monday, July 10th and Tuesday, July 11th / 6:30PM - 9:30PM ‘Those who audition should arrive at 6:30 but may not need to stay until 9:30. ‘You only need to attend one night of auditions. ‘There are potential callbacks on Wednesday, July 12th and Thursday, July 13th Rehearsal Dates July 28rd, 2017 - September 7, 2017 Rehearsals are flexible and are generally held Monday through Thursday evenings, with occasional ‘Sunday rehearsals as needed. Performance Dates ‘September 8, 2017 - September 24, 2017 Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM ‘Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM 18 shows total during a three week run Audition Location Grandstreet Theatre Studio is located at 328 Fuller Avenue (downtown across from Valley Bank) What to Bring ‘Those who audition must submit a Fun Home Audition Form on the night you audition. Forms can be picked up at the Grandstreet Box Office (weekdays between noon and §) or downloaded from our website: htlp-//grandstreettheatre.comiget-involved/auditions! Please come with your Audition Form already filed out. This form has important calendar and schedule information that is necessary for the casting process. ‘Seeking the Following Roles Alison - (30s, 40s) an adult cartoonist Medium Alison - (late teens, early 20s) a college freshman ‘Small Alison - a young girl anywhere between 8 and 12 years old Bruce - Alison's father (30s, 40s, 50s) Helen - Alison's mother (30s, 40s, 50s) John - Alison's younger brother (between 5 and 10 years old) Christian - Alison’s older brother (between 10 and 14 years old) Roy, Mark, Pete, Bobby Jeremy - An actor who plays several roles (between 18 and 30 years old) Joan - a college student About The Show Winner of 5 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Fun Homes a refreshingly honest musical about the graphic novelist Alison Bechdel, and the story of her father; the volatile, brillant one of a kind man whose ‘temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. The beautiful and compelling score made history when Tesori and Kron became the first female writing team to win the Tony Award for Best Original Score. This brave new musical explores Alison’s growing understanding of her own sexuality as well as looming, unanswerable questions about her father's hidden desires. Fun Home is an enthralling story ‘about seeing your parents through grown up eyes. Fun Home will be directed by Flosie Seitz Ayers. We highly recommend memorizing your song. You will sing along with a piano accompanist. * You do not need to bring sheet music with you to your auction. You will sing along with a piano accompanist, but the accompanist will already have the sheet music for the selected material * You may be asked to return to a callback on Wednesday, July 12th or Thursday, July 13th. * Please come to your audition with your AUDITION FORM already filed out. Forms can be downloaded from the Grandstreet website: hitp://arandstreetthealre.comn/get-involved/aultions/ or picked up from ur box office (weekdays between 12:00 and 6:00) * The music inthis audition packet clearly indicates where the selection should start and stop, Fun Home Rehearsals Rehearsals are generally held Sunday through Thursday evenings. Participating in a Grandstreet show is a serious commitment and rehearsal attendance is very important. However, rehearsal schedules have some flexibility depending an cast conflicts, holidays, vacations, and work schedules. We understand that you are volunteering your time and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule, Please make sure to list all known conflicts on your audition form. If cast in the show, please notify the stage manager of any new conflicts that come up. Actors will not be called to every rehearsal. You will only be called to rehearsal when you are needed, ‘Tech Week ‘September 3, 2017 - September 7, 2017 / Tech Week is the final week of the process where all of the technical elements of the show are put in place. No actor may miss a rehearsal during tech week Remember! Casting is subjective and completely based on someone else's opinion. Sometimes casting decisions are based on looks, height, or how you look next to other cast members. You will not get cast in every role you want and sometimes you won't get cast at all.
