TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that every child is unique and has the ability to learn. It is my duty as a teacher to find out
what interests and excites them and build on it. I believe that children learn best when the learning is
relevant and exciting, and when they are in a safe learning environment. I am a strong believer in the
power of ‘yet’. The idea that learning and understanding takes time. Although one might not understand
it now, they will in time to come, as everyone progresses at different rates. Allowing children to take
ownership of their learning is also another one of my beliefs. I think that enabling children more
student agency in class gives them a sense of pride and will motivate them to want to strive harder.
