Immediate management
 Let it bleed don’t squeeze the injured site
 Wash with running water
 Report to your immediate in charge/supervisor
 Raise an incident report and send it to infection control nurse

Blood spill on the skin or splash on the face

 Wash the face or splashed area with plenty of running water


 If body fluid have splashed into the eyes or mouth, rinse out with water immediately
 Special attention should be given to clean your eyes with plenty of water
 Change the dress immediately and the soiled dress put in yellow bag and label,it send to laundry
 Report to your immediate incharge/supervisor
 Raise an incident report and send it to infection control nurse

 Avoid recapping, re-sheathing or bending needles


 Follow single handed scooping technique
 Dispose the needle at the point of use
 Plan for the safe handling and disposal of needles before use.
 Secure used sharps containers during transport to prevent spilling.
 Follow standard precautions, infection prevention, and general hygiene practices consistently.
 Help your employer select and evaluate devices with safety features.
 Use devices with safety features provided by your employer.
