Hand Tool Safety for Workers

This risk assessment identifies hazards associated with the use of hand tools and control measures to mitigate those risks. Hazards include personal injury from improper tool use, falling objects from loose tools, slips and trips due to poor housekeeping, and difficult access to work areas. Control measures involve using tools properly, securing unused tools and fall areas, maintaining good housekeeping, and using certified scaffolding. With these controls, the risk score is reduced from 9 before to 6 after, indicating a low risk level. Personal protective equipment including safety boots, overalls, hard hat, gloves, goggles, and hearing and respiratory protection is also required.
