Service Bulletin: SB Number: Creation Date: 27/08/2003 Subject: Model

This service bulletin announces that simulations for zero-second recovery and recovery priority mode have been discontinued for environmental reasons. The firmware was also changed to allow a longer transition time for auto preheat mode. Specific models numbers are provided for more details on the changes. An important note specifies that certain models must have preheat mode set to ON to comply with Energy Star standards.

SB Number: SB 03-002 Creation Date: 27/08/2003

Subject: Zero-sec recovery / recovery priority mode discontinued
KM-6330, KM-4530, KM-5530, KM-2530, KM-3530, KM-4030,
Model:
KM-4850w, KM-P4845w, KM-P4850w, KM-S4850w

Please be informed that due to environmental reasons, the service simulations related to ‘zero-sec.
recovery’ and ‘recovery priority mode’ have been discontinued.
In addition, the firmware has been changed so that the transition time to auto preheat can be set to a
longer period.

CONTENTS OF CHANGES

SIM 344 (=‘Setting preheat/energy saver mode’): selection of the zero-sec. recovery deleted.
SIM 256 (=‘Turning auto preheat/energy saver function on/off) deleted.
Auto preheat setting has been changed.

KM-6330: for more details please refer to SB 2CJ-007.

KM-4530, KM-5530: for more details please refer to SB 2BC-014.
KM-2530, KM-3530, KM-4030: for more details please refer to SB 2BJ-021.
KM-4850w: for more details please refer to SB 2A7-022.
KM-P4845w, KM-P4850w, KM-S4850w: for more details please refer to SB 2A7-023.

IMPORTANT NOTE / FIELD MEASURE for KM-2530 / 3530 / 4030

In the KM-2530 / 3530 and KM-4030, the preheat mode can be set to ON or OFF in simulation U256.
Please pay attention however that should this preheat setting in the above models must not be set
‘OFF’, as these models have acquired the Energy Star standard, which requires preheat setting to be
on!
Therefore, if the customer demands to change the preheat setting to ‘OFF’, please kindly explain the
above point to the customer and change the setting to ’ON’. If the setting should be set to ‘OFF’, please
change the setting back to ‘ON’. The factory default setting for the preheat is set to 15 minutes.
