Atmakarka Role

The document discusses the concept of Atmakaraka in Vedic astrology. It explains that the Atmakaraka planet is the indicator of the soul and plays the most influential role in a birth chart. There are two types of Atmakaraka - a natural one (the Sun) and a chara or moving one that is calculated based on planet positions. The position of the Atmakaraka indicates spheres of life where one must work to overcome past karma through suffering and growth. “Atma” means “I,” while “Karak” means “Indicator.

” Naturally, there are two grahas in the map, called Atmakaraka. One of them is natural
(naysargika), and the other is temporary (char). The natural Atmakaraka in each map is Surya, while the chara-Atmakaraka in each map is
calculated according to the position of the grahas in the sign.

The sun
The sun is an indicator of dharma (basic laws of nature). It governs the "I" of man, innate nature and intelligence. While the Moon rules the
manas (mind), the Sun shows an atman (transdental "I"), which is unborn and immortal, and is outside the relative field of being. The sun is
a natural indicator of the questions of the first house, or Lagna. It governs the 5th house of the natural zodiac, and together with the Guru it
repeats Dhi-Shakti, the intellect associated with wisdom, the right growth of consciousness and the mantra - the original sound that reflects
the transcendental impulse of the Law of Nature.

Chara-Atmakarak
While scientists are still divided in opinion, using the scheme of seven or eight chara-karak, Parashara and Jaimini clearly prefer the
latter. Thus, I describe the role of the Atmakaraki, keeping in mind the scheme of the 8th Chara-Karak, as recommended by the sages.

Let's see what Parashara says about Atmakarak: “Oh, Brahmin, as the minister cannot go against the king, so are the other Karaks, namely
Putrakarak, Amatiyakarak, etc. they cannot dominate the affairs of the one born over Atmakaraka. If Atmakarak is unfavorable, other Karaks
cannot give their favorable effect (completely). Similarly, if Atmakarak is favorable, other Karaks cannot prevail with their pernicious
influences. ”

Atmakarak is the most affecting planet in the map. She is the king of the horoscope. Her role is to protect, as the king protects his kingdom
and territory. Being the most personal planet, it most strongly indicates Moksha (final liberation), and for this reason, the 12th house from
Atmakaraki in the Navamsha map (dharmamshe) is used to define Ishta Devata, or a personal deity, who will lead the soul to her real home
- Mokshe. Thus, the main role of Atmakaraki is the purification of the soul. Therefore, the position of Atmakaraki in the map explains the
suffering of the soul, obstacles and bad karma, which are designed to cleanse the soul from its sins and contribute to its growth and
evolution. It is for this reason that Atmakaraki’s position in homes, as well as her Arudha, is indicative of the disturbing spheres of life, in
which a person must selflessly work to reflect past sins. For this reason, the person will suffer the most, while at the same time gaining the
opportunity to progress, mainly through the tools of the power of Atmakaraki. Although various astrologers believe that the seat of
Atmakaraki will be favorable for the cardholder, it is so that the position of Atmakaraki in the house becomes very noticeable in human life,
giving obstacles and suffering, which leads to personal growth and evolution. However, to clarify, Atmakarak does not necessarily indicate
suffering by its very position. Happiness can take place there, under the conditions set by Atmakaraka / spiritual inclinations. Let's look at a

necessarily indicate suffering by its very position. Happiness can take place there, under the conditions set by Atmakaraka / spiritual
inclinations. Let's look at a few maps:

First case
Shani is both Atmakaraka and Yoga-Karaka, it is also retrograde and located in Mrtavasta, as well as in Rasi-Sandhi. Shani is located in
Dharmamshe (Mithun-Navamshe). Shani is also strong in his sign, while his location in the 8th house from AL is not good. In the mahadashu
Shani, the woman gave birth to three children, the first pregnancy was lost, because of the mrit-avasta Shani and the strong maraki drishti -
Mangal. After the birth of the last child, she developed postpartum depression. Being a very caring mother, she was too concerned about her
children. Her tremendous sense of responsibility (Shani) towards children made her give up all her personal joys.

Because of these problems, the woman started meditating and finished courses on homeopathy, she also spends several hours every day in
meditation and prayers. Thus, in her map we see both the punishing and cleansing role of Shani.

Second case

Atmakaraka Mangal is in his own sign in the 7th house and the person is a dedicated follower of ISKCON. He is still not married, and his
spirituality and ascetic lifestyle is very pronounced so far.

In another case, a combination of Guru and Mangal would be favorable for the early start of a householder's life.

Third case
Atmakarak Shani is located in the 4th house, and the man had to give up part of his property in favor of his older sister.

The difficulties experienced by this man and the responsibility in family life were enormous.

They carried a cleansing effect and firmly strengthened the personal life in a spiritual direction.

Fourth case

Atmakaraka Mangal in the 4th house gave the most terrible experiences in the affairs of the fourth house, namely, the early loss of the
mother and the illness of his younger brother.

Mahadasa Mangala was the worst.

The woman conducted her in prayers and meditation. At the moment, she is going to the mahadasa Rahu, and she has completely devoted
herself to the spiritual life.

Fifth case
Atmakaraka Mangal is in a niche in the 12th house (in the degree of greatest exhaustion), and in the Mahadash Mangal is a woman:

 lost property;

 continued to face losses and expenses;

 had great difficulties.

However, her life views changed, and she became interested in Jyotish (astrology) and spiritualism.

The sixth case

Atmakarak Venus is exalted in the 10th house, which leads to Pancha-Maha-Purusha yoga.

The man is a businessman, while in the mahadash of Venus he worked very hard, faced with enormous difficulties and problems in the
professional sphere, while at the same time he began to fast, changed his attitude and began to take life more seriously, recognizing her
spiritual dimension.

It is worth noting that Venus has given excellent professional growth, but sometimes in conjunction with great difficulties.

My personal observation is that the naturally auspicious Atmakarak seeks to punish more gently, in comparison with the naturally harmful
Atmakaraka.
The seventh case

Atmakaraka Mercury loses planetary warfare to Jupiter, and even though she is in her own sign (in Virgo) in kendra from AL, the woman is
still not married and unsuccessful in her personal life and profession.

Notice that Mercury is the master of both the 7th and 10th houses.

In the professional field, she faced many obstacles and a great source of difficulties.

However, due to her humble and chaste nature, she copes well with difficulties. She has worked her utmost patience and service in her life.

Eighth case

Atmakaraka The sun is well located in the 4th house, along with Mercury in Nichabhang.

She is a meditation instructor, while her problems with property and all 4th house indicators began after her father’s relatively premature
death.

She faced various problems from powerful people in the spiritual movement. She is still not married (the Sun is the master of Upa Pada).

Conclusion
In all cases, it is obvious that Atmakarak created anxiety in all the questions shown by her position. Depending on the attitude of the person,
he will either take the lessons given by Atmakaraka and will turn to the spiritual life or continue to suffer.

So, Atmakarak in no case will not improve the performance of the house in the usual way (as the owner of Lagna, for example). The king of
the card has one single motive — to repel sins from previous births and to cleanse a person, giving suffering and pain, thereby setting the
soul to higher levels.
