For example, Westerners categorized a blue plastic cylinder and piece of wood differently based on shape, while Easterners categorized them based on material. Easterners also do not distinguish between singular and plural nouns like Westerners do. When discussing food, Easterners would specify a particular food rather than use plural nouns. Additionally, Eastern news tends to focus more on local events like accidents, while Western news prioritizes business, politics, and entertainment stories. In general, the documentary showed that Westerners see the world as individuals while Easterners see everything as interconnected.

Reaction: West & East World Views

The Documentary shows how the West & Eastern parts of the earth view the world
differently one instance that caught my attention is how the westerners and easterners have
differentiate a piece of wood and a plastic blue cylinders categorizes by the westerners and the
easterners the westerners choose the blue one because of similar in shape while the easterner
choose the wood because of similarity in material and nature.

Another one that caught my attention is that the easterners don’t have the concept of singular
and plural noun while the westerners have, because the westerners sees object individually while
the easterners sees object as a whole. When you say to westerners what food do you want to eat
then easterners will emphasize a specific food he/she wanted to eat. Another points of comparison
when it comes to words is that easterners will use verb occasionally while easterners use nouns
more.

When it comes to news easterners tends to focus on their surroundings such as the collision
of two vehicles, the deaths resulting to vehicular accidents and many that affects their surroundings
while westerners tend to focus less on their surroundings, they focus more on issues such as
business, politics and showbiz.
Hence, westerners and easterners views the world differently, westerners categorize any object
they see because they see the world individually. While easterners sees the world as a big field that
everything is related and connected with one another, that one cannot exist without the other.
