Science Fiction

Science fiction in film explores new ideas and themes through speculative stories that stray from reality. The genre has evolved over time, from early silent films experimenting with technology to blockbusters today featuring superheroes, dystopias, and artificial intelligence. Some films that changed the genre include A Trip to the Moon in 1902 with its fantastical imagery, Star Wars in 1977 which popularized space operas, Alien in 1979 which pioneered sci-fi horror, and The Matrix in 1999 with its groundbreaking visual effects and philosophy. Science fiction remains popular as it allows audiences to imagine limitless possibilities and reflect on societal issues through an allegorical lens.
