Introduction
The Govt. of India with the co-operation of ISRO launched
the Educational Satellite (EDUSAT) on 20th September 2004
from Sriharikota, to bring a revolution in Distance Education
Programmes within the country.
EDUSAT is also know as GSAT-3, is meant for distant class
room education from school level to higher education.
It is the first "Educational Satellite" of India which provides
the country with satellite based two way communication to
deliver excellent education.

Objectives of Edusat
OBJECTIVES
:

To assess the impact of the


broadcast of the Video Programme
on students with respect the gain in
the knowledge.
To assess the impact of the
broadcast on students attendance.
To get the feedback from the
teachers on the quality of the
programme and is impact on
teachers

Uses of EDUSAT

Advantages
Distance education will get strengthened.
Education could be made available at a fraction of its
cost to a large number of students.
It eliminates the demand of huge number of teachers.
Education reaches the doorsteps of students. There is
no need for students to go in search of good education.

Limitations of EDUSAT
Proper infrastructure and
internet facilities is not
yet available
everywhere.
Lack of efficient
instructors.
Lack of electricity in
remote areas.
This system is very
expensive.

Conclusion

The launch of EDUSAT has helped in providing


excellent education through video programmes to
students. The students have benefited a lot from
the delivered videos through EDUSAT.
It helps the learners to strengthened their
knowledge by understanding the proper content
through distance education.
