Cross-dockingisapracticeinlogisticsofunloadingmaterialsfrom

anincomingsemi-trailertruckorrailroadcarandloadingthese
materialsdirectlyintooutboundtrucks,trailers,orrailcars,withlittle
ornostorageinbetween.Thismaybedonetochangetypeof
conveyance,tosortmaterialintendedfordifferentdestinations,or
tocombinematerialfromdifferentoriginsintotransportvehicles(or
containers)withthesame,orsimilardestination.

Crossdockingmatchesinboundandoutbounddeliveriestoavoid

havingtostorematerialinthewarehouse.Notallmaterialis
suitableforcrossdocking,butwhenitcanbeuseditreduceslabor
costs,deliverytimetothecustomer,andtheamountofwarehouse
space

dockingtobeactive,checktheconfigurationforthe
warehousetoensurethatthetwo-stepcrossdocking
indicatorisnotset.SotherewillnotbeanyCross-dock
storagetyperequired.Thiscanbeaopportunisticcross
docking,transferringamaterialdirectlyfromgoodsreceiving
docktotheoutboundshippingdock.Afterdueconfigurations
forone-stepsystemprocessstepsare..
YouneedtocreateeitherPutawayTO/PickTOandthen
systemchecksthecrossdocconfigandcanceltheTOand
createanewTOfrom902to916.andalsoupdatesinthe
documentflow.ThisyoucandowithoutCrossdockmonitor.

outbounddeliveryaspartofacrossdockingdecision.
Ifsystemactivefortwo-stepprocess,thesystemwill
createtwotransferorders:1)Atransferorderforthe
inbounddeliverymaterialsfromthegoodsreceipt
storagetype(902)tothecrossdockingstoragetype
(XCD).2)Atransferorderfromthecrossdocking
storagetype(XCD)tothegoodsissuestorage
type(916).
