AI Composing: Reviving Classical Styles

EMI is a computer program created by David Cope to compose new musical works in the styles of famous composers by analyzing their existing works. It parses compositions into lexicons and uses augmented transition networks to generate new "musical sentences". EMI can compose entire pieces that have been mistaken for the original composers by experts and have been performed live.
