PROBLEM STATEMENT

• A lawn mower (also named as mower or lawnmower) is a machine utilizing one or more
revolving blades to cut a grass surface to an even height.
• Generally this machine requires either Gasoline(petrol) or electricity.For using this machine if
we make use of gasoline or electricity,it will cause huge power loss.In few places,the grass will
be present in larger areas of some acres.If we use these grass cutters for larger areas to cut
grass,there will be more power wastage.So,we came up with a solution.
WHAT IS SOLUTION???

• Instead of using normal grass cutters which use gasoline or electricity,it is better to use solar energy in
place of electricity.So,we came up with an idea of SOLAR GRASS CUTTER.

• This solar grass cutter does not use any energy source or gasoline.It just need sunlight to do its work.But
this can be used only in presence of sunlight.It cannot be used in absence of sunlight.Also we can be far
away from pollution by using solar grass cutter,because normal grass cutter uses gasoline which causes
pollution.This solar grass cutter can also be operated using a remote.It can be used in large
playgrounds,house gardens.
• Solar panels,Relay,DC motor,Blades,Comparator,Temperature sensor,Battery are some of the main
components used in the lawn mover.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SOLAR GRASS
CUTTER
• Advantages:
• It is compact size and portable.
• No fuel cost.
• No pollution.
• Portable.
• Less wear and tear.
• Can be operated by non skill people .

• Chances of blade failure.
• Can be operated only manually.
• Difficult to be operated in rainy areas.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NORMAL GRASS CUTTER
AND A SOLAR GRASS CUTTER
• Normal one should be wired to power supply or filled with fuel but a solar one need not to be wired or
filled.
• Solar one acts more efficiently than normal one.
• Solar one is portable where as the normal one is not easily portable.
• Solar one does not add cost to the fuel but normal one adds cost to the fuel.
• Solar one does not get spoiled easily but a normal grass cutter can get spoiled easily.
