REPORT

AMBER ENTERPRISES
INDIA PVT. LTD.
SELAQUI, DEHRADUN

BY
Vikas Singh Bisht
B.Tech – Mechanical Final Year
INTRODUCTION
Amber Pvt Ltd was established by Mr. Kartar Singh in 1985
as a small scale sheet metal fabrication unit for the auto
industry, with just two employees and few thousand
rupees. Today his Rs 400-crore Amber group of companies
is among LG’s largest original equipment manufacturers &
engineering metal supplier. The company deals with their
production houses from the head office at Rajpura, Patiala.
Company having about 2000 employee in their three plants
at Rajpura, Greater Noida and Industrial area at Selaqui,
(Dehradun).
VISITED BRACH
INTRODUCTION
Amber Pvt Ltd Selaqui was established in the year 2001 in
industrial area at D36 at Selaqui. The plant basically deals with
assembly of the RAC, CAC and MICROWAVE OVEN. It also deals
with sheet metal shop, paint shop and Heat exchanger plants. The
production rate of the plant are very high where about 2.5 Lacs of
AC and 20 thousand of Microwave are produced every year from
this plant. The plant having the four main units which are
following:-
Production Unit
Sheet Metal Shop
Paint Shop
Heat Exchanger Plant
PRODUCTION UNIT
Production unit is one of the biggest working spaces
in the plant it having the spacious and well managed
workshop. It having the 3 assembly line in which RAC,
CAC and Microwave Oven are assembled according
to the demand.

According to section wise the products are divided

into two main parts are following:-
1. AIR CONDITIONER
2. MICROWAVE OVEN
AIR CONDITIONER
An air conditioner is a home appliance,
system, or mechanism designed to extract
heat from an area via a refrigeration cycle. In
construction, a complete system of heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning is referred to
as "HVAC." Its purpose, in a building or an
automobile, is to provide comfort during
either hot or cold weather.
TYPES OF A.C.

>> Rooms AC are those AC in which the whole arrangement of

various equipment are done in the single unit. These AC are
light in Weight and construction, they having the simple
arrangement and are suitable for the small room.

>> The Central AC is also known as the name of Split AC which

is a combination of two units are:
1. Indoor Unit
2. Outdoor Unit
A.C. PROCESSING
A.C. COMPONENTS
1. Condenser (Heat Exchanger)
2. Evaporator
3. Compressor
4. Capillary tubes
5. Refrigerants
Condenser (Heat Transfer)

In systems involving heat transfer, a condenser is a

device or unit used to condense a substance from
its gaseous to its liquid state, typically by cooling it.
In so doing, the latent heat is given up by the
substance, and will transfer to the condenser
coolant.
EVAPORATOR
Rooms AC are those AC in which the whole arrangement of
various equipment are done in the single unit. These AC are light
in Weight and construction, they having the simple arrangement
and are suitable for the small room.
COMPRESSOR
A gas compressor is a mechanical device that increases the
pressure of a gas by reducing its volume. Compressors are
similar to pumps: both increase the pressure on a fluid and
both can transport the fluid through a pipe.
CAPILLARY TUBES
The capillary tube is a fixed restriction-type device. It is a long
and narrow tube connecting the condenser directly to the
evaporator. The pressure drop through the capillary tube is due
to the following two factors:-

>> Friction, due to the fluid viscosity, resulting in frictional

pressure drop.

>> Acceleration, due to the flashing of the liquid refrigerant into

vapour, resulting in momentum pressure drop.
REFRIGERANTS
For every refrigerant there is a specific boiling, or vaporization,
temperature associated with each pressure, so that it is only
necessary to control the pressure in the evaporator to obtain a
desired temperature. A similar pressure-temperature
relationship holds in the condenser. One of the most widely
used refrigerants for many years was dichlorodifluoromethane,
known as Refrigerant-12. This synthetic chlorofluorocarbon
(CFC) would vaporize at -6.7° C (20° F) under a pressure of
246.2 kPa (35.7 psi), and after compression to 909.2 kPa (131.9
psi) would condense at 37.8° C (100° F).
MICROWAVE OVEN
A microwave oven, or a
microwave, is a kitchen
appliance that cooks or heats
food by dielectric heating. This is
accomplished by using
microwave radiation to heat
water and other polarized
molecules within the food. This
excitation is fairly uniform,
leading to food being adequately
heated throughout (except in
thick objects), a feature not seen
in any other heating technique.
MICROWAVE FEATURES
A microwave oven consists of:
1. a high voltage transformer, which passes energy to
the magnetron
2. a cavity magnetron, which converts high-voltage
electric energy to microwave radiation
3. a magnetron control circuit (usually with a
microcontroller)
4. a waveguide
5. a cooking chamber
SHEET METAL SHOP
Amber having a well developed sheet metal and machine
shop with large variety of press and machines. There are
about more then 50 machines are present for
manufacturing different cavity and other jobs.
The large verity of tools makes it possible to perform the
work more efficiently. There a large variety of hydraulic as
well as mechanical press are available. The Sheet Metal
shop of Amber make it the Best EMS of the LG.
A HYDRAULIC PRESS IN IT’S
WORKING
PAINT SHOP
Paint Shop is one of the supporting
unit of Sheet metal shop in which
the cavity and inner, outer panel of
AC get Painted. This unit is one of
the perfect examples of works
through the help of machinery. This
unit having Pretreatment Chamber,
Painting Chamber, Furnace Block,
Quality check Area and Paint Lab.
The collective unit make it possible
to work fast with the lesser
mistakes.
HEAT EXCHANGER
PLANT
Heat exchanger plant in amber was established in 2004 to
full the need of Evaporator and Condenser of the LG’s Air
Conditioners. Heat exchanger plant every year produces
about 2 lacks Eva and condenser. Plant is full of highly
sophisticated machines which work more efficiently as well
as more safely. There is a single line is present but it
capable of to complete the demand of the production plant
and other customers.
DIFFERENT MACHINES OF
H.E. PLANTS
FIN PRESS MACHINE
VERTICAL EXPANDER MACHINE
EVA CUTTING MACHINE
OIL DRIER
QUALITY CONTROL
In engineering and manufacturing, quality control and
quality engineering are used in developing systems to
ensure products or services are designed and produced to
meet or exceed customer requirements.
Quality control is the branch of engineering and
manufacturing which deals with assurance and failure
testing in design and production of products or services, to
meet or exceed customer requirements.
FIVE S OF THE FIRM
SELF DICIPLINE

STANDARDIZE
Make standard so that any abnormity becomes obvious.
SORT
Sort out what is needed and what is not needed when in doubt
through it cut.
SWEEP
Clean the machine floor and walls looking for source of filth eliminate
the source.
STRAIGHTEN
Keep everything that is need in an orderly fashion so that thing can be.
QUALITY POLICY

>> Continuous interaction with customer.

>> Continuous improvement in the process.
>> Continuous interaction with vender for better support.
>> Continuous training education, motivating all members.
>> Involving all member of team for quality improvement
and cost effectiveness.
