HQG WILL HAVE A LANGUAGE OUTCOME.
• STUDENTS WILL PRODUCE LANGUAGE IN ORDER TO PLAY THE GAME.
• THE GAME WILL CREATE THE NEED FOR LANGUAGE USE.
HQG WILL HAVE CLEAR GOALS.
• GAMES MUST HAVE A CLEAR PEDAGOGICAL VALUE TO SERVE ANY PURPOSE IN
THE CLASSROOM.

TEACHER HAS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK.

SERVE THE PURPOSE.

TAKES PLACE.
HQG WILL VARY THE CLASSROOM DYNAMICS.
• GAMES CAN BE PLAYED BY THE WHOLE CLASS.
• GAMES CAN BE PLAYED IN SMALL GROUPS.
• GAMES CAN BE PLAYED IN PAIRS.
• GAMES CAN BE PLAYED INDIVIDUALLY.
HQG WILL BE EASY TO BE CARRIED OUT.
• FOR GAMES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CLASSROOM THEY MUST BE USER-
FRIENDLY BOTH TO STUDENTS AND THE TEACHER.
• IF THE GAME IS NOT EASY TO PLAY, CHILDREN WILL NOT UNDERSTAND IT, THEY
WILL NOT KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT, THEY WILL GIVE UP ON IT AND SO WILL THE
TEACHER.
HQG WILL COST A LITTLE.
• IT IS THE PEDAGOGICAL VALUE WHAT MAKES THE GAME WORTHY.
• HQG CAN BE MADE WITH MATERIALS THAT CA BE OBTAINED AT A VERY LOW
COST.
• EVEN CHILDREN CAN BE ENGAGED IN CREATING GAMES.
HQG WILL ENHANCE LEARNING AND FOSTER
LANGUAGE ACQUISITION.
• GAMES IN THE CLASSROOM HAVE TO BE INCLUDED IN ORDER TO AID BOTH
LEARNING AND ACQUISITION.
• THEREFORE, GAMES HAVE TO BE DESIGNED FOLLOWING RESEARCHERS
´ADVICE ON HOW A LANGUAGE IS BEST LEARNT.
HQL WILL BE DRILLS IN DISGUISE.
• REPETITION IS KEY TO ACQUISITION.
• COMPREHENSIBLE LANGUAGE IS KEY TO ACQUISITION.
• RETRIEVAL IS AN OBSERVABLE SIGN OFACQUISITION.
• RETRIEVAL IS ACHIEVED THROUGH REPETITION.
• ROTE MEMORIZATION AND PARROTING IS BORING.
• GAMES ARE FUN.
