What is pre-evangelism?
A branch of christian theology which attempts
to give a rational defense of the christian faith.
Apologetics is giving a reason for why we
believe what we believe.
Bringing people to Jesus through Bible, science
and philosophy.
Why should we do pre-evangelism?
The bible command us to do it: 1 peter 3:15, matt.
28:19, jude 1:3 “contend for the faith” jude 22.
Jesus did it: jesus gave evidence for His claims;
his fulfilment of prophecy, miracles and
resurrection prediction[ mk. 14:61-62, jn 2:19-21,
matt.12:39-40].
Corrected false interpretations of scripture[matt
4:1-11]
Paul did pre-evangelism; jews in the
synagogues[ Act 17:1-3].
Factors to be considered when doing pre-
evangelism or apologetics.
Pre-evangelism is to be coupled with mercy
and love [jude 22].
Importance of humility: 1 cor. 8:1, 1 peter 3:16a.
Importance of love. 1cor. 13:1
Soul winning mentality not argument.
Why is pre-evangelism important?
It helps christians to know their faith and share
it more effectively.
To answer people’s real questions which
hinder them from accepting the gospel.
To have influence in the public
square[education and media].
To prevent doctrinal apostasy in the church.
To answer the false claims of religions.
Responding to common objections to
Christian faith by muslims.
Objections of muslims are:
1. The trinity
2. Deity and sonship of Christ
3. The authenticity of the bible
4. The necessity of the cross and the resurrection
What are Muslims believes?
You can’t know God[ christians says you can].
Jesus was only a prophet[christianity says he is
God in human flesh].
Jesus didn’t die for us[christianity says he died for
our sins].
You can’t know if you are forgiven until you die
[christianity says you can know you are forgiven
here and now].
You go to heaven if your good works outweigh the
bad[ christianity say it’s by grace through faith in
christ].
Response to objections
1. Trinity
It is a revelation from God and Jesus taught it[matt 3:16-17, jn
14:16-17, matt 28:19, luk 1:35. 2corinthians 13:14.
2.Deity and sonship of jesus
Jesus claim to be God in gospel of jn 5:17-18, 8:58-59,
10:30.
Uses the same name as God; exod 3:13-14, luk 22:67-71,
matt 26:63-66, col.2:9.
Jesus exercising the power and authority of God; over
nature-luk 8:22-25, over demons- luk 8:26-39,Grant eternal
life-jn 6:35-40.
To judge mankind- matt 25:31-32.
3.The authencity of the bible.
The bible is true, manuscripts evidence from the following ancient
people prove the bible.
Josephus[37-100 BC], a second century jewish general and historian.
Ceasar [100-44 BC].
Plato [427-347 BC].
Tacitus : a roman historian who wrote about Nero[100 AD]
The bible was completed 500 years before Quran was revealed to
mohammed.
The bible is accurate and authentic because:
1. The scribes that did the copying had meticulous methods for
checking their copies for errors.
2. The holy spirit made sure we would have an accurate copy of
God’s word so we would not be deceived.
4. Neccessity of the cross and resurrection
Ransom – mark 10:45, romans 6:17.
Forgiveness –Ephesians 1:7 NIV, His death is
the only forgiveness
Reconciliation- romans 5:10.
justification – Hebrew 7:26, romans 5:1. we are
no longer guilty.
Resurrection is necessary to prove the
christian faith- 1 cor 15:13-14.
Emergency apologetics
Who is mohammed[get answers from audience].
Answer; I know mohammed, he was a reformer,
you know he is your prophet not mine. I also love
what he said about jesus and bible, would you like
me to show you?
Quran talks about jesus from surah 3:45- he is the
word of God, the messiah and held in honor,
righteous. He has power over death[49]. We are to
obey him[50]. Can show us way to heaven.
What quran says about the bible: the bible is true
revelation from God, surah 2:136,3:3, 4:136, 5:47-51.
General evangelism or witnessing
I wish to offer a simple and straight forward
approach in how to talk to anyone irrespective
of their religions or worldviews.
Understand christianity as a worldview.
The best approach when witnessing to
someone is to know what you believe.
Be in prayer and be ready to share the best
bible verse you are comfortable with.

The best bible verses are:
1. Romans 10:9-13, john3:16
2. Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 john 5:10-13.
Romans 10:9-10 talks about jesus death, resurrection and
the gospel.it teaches that;
Confessing and believing in jesus as lord for
salvation.
Salvation, God’s grace is by believing in your heart
that jesus died and rose again.
Everyone who believes in Him, jesus will be saved.
Salvation is for all those who call upon Him, jesus.

2. Ephesians 2:8-9 talks about;
Salvation by grace through faith and not
works.
The bible is clear that works is not what saves
anyone and grace is what separates all cults,
religions from christianity.
