What is the NBA’s Quality Grading ?

Accredited Programme for 6 Years


[when cumulative score is above 750]
signifies that programme meets and in most cases
exceeds the criteria.

Accredited Programme for 3 Years


[when cumulative score is between 650 and 749]
Signifies that programme meets the minimum
criteria with marginal deficiencies which can be
rectified in a short time.
What is the NBA’s Quality Grading ?

Not Accredited
[when cumulative score is below 650]
Signifies that programme is not accredited in
view of the seriousness of deficiencies.
How is the Assessment Done ?

The chairperson and 2 program experts


in consultation with the institution,
agree to details of the visit based on
NBA guidelines.

The team carries out physical verification


of infrastructure facilities, records,
interviews faculty, staff, students ,
alumni and industry in a 3 day visit.
AMRITA Timeline
• August to October, 2018: NBA
Preparation (Pre-Qualifiers,
Sensitization, Self-Assessment Report
(SAR))
• October, 2018: Application & Pre-
Qualifier submission
• November, 2018: Submission of SAR
• December, 2018: NBA Peer team Site
Visit
• January, 2019: Accreditation Result
