Background of development
Current D155AX-5 has been highly evaluated in productivity, reliability and operating cost.
In 2005, CAT has introduced new D8T which complies with EPA Tier 3 emission
regulation.
D155AX-5 has partially become old, but has still superiority in work performance.
New model is required to meet the Tier 3 emission regulations.

Ecology & economy technology 3
Komatsu has been developing and manufacturing in house both the construction
vehicles and engines: equipment since 1931 and diesel engines since 1935.
Supported by such experience, the ecot3 technology was developed aiming for
preservation of the Earth's environment (Ecology) and the customer's productivity
(Economy). What makes us successful is our strong technological capabilities and
power that integrates them into efficient machinery.

P mode
Horse power becomes a little bit higher,
This is suitable for dozing of very heavy
material, especially where track can hold
on tight to the ground. Such as sticky
soil.
Merits : Productivity High

Automatic mode vs Manual mode
Automatic mode
If pre-set 2nd gear or above, gear
will be shifted to most optimum
position.
This mode is suitable for ordinary
work..
Manual mode
When the load becomes too heavy,
the gear will be shifted down.
( Shift up should be done by manual. )
This mode is suitable for dozing or ripping
in site where load varies from spot to spot.

Remarks on assembling large bulldozers at site
1. Check the packing style beforehand.
1. Check transportation method and regulation.
2. Get the packing list and check the packing style beforehand.
( Contact with sales department at first shipment. )
2. Get the field assembly manual and be prepared beforehand.
1. Prepare assembly place and mechanics
2. Prepare assembling tools, crane, oil, water etc.
3. Have mechanics read the field assembly manual.
For non English speaking countries, translate the important parts
and explain the procedure to the mechanics.
4. Make a copy of the inspection check sheet in the field assembly manual.
5. Teach the method of inspection and Pm-clinic measurement based on
the inspection check sheet.
3. Go back to the basics for mechanics.
1. Assemble the machine based on the field assembly manual.
2. After assembly, inspect the machine based on the inspection check sheet.
3. Keep the record of the inspection check sheet and
Pm-clinic measurement data.
