CLIMATE AND GEOGRAPHY
Virginia is home to many Mountains, Valleys and, costal
plains. The climate here is mostly warm but when winters
come it gets very cold. Our warm climate makes crops
grow faster which is good for food supply. We are
actually one of the hottest colonies out of all 13. Some
famous landmarks and bodies of water are the Virginia
blue ridge and the Potomac river.
Daily Life

Social Classes: Enslaved field hands, Enslaved house servents, Free blacks,
Farmers, Middle class, Gentry. Work was mostly planting specifically
tobacco because in Virginia's most desperate times they relied on trading
and selling tobacco.
The first school in Virginia was built 1618 as well as the first college.
During the colonial era wealthy men built 10 more public schools with free
education.
Religion

Religions consited of a protestant form of Christianity, Puritans, Baptists,


Methodists, Presbytirians, and Anglicans. Puritans immigrated to Virginia
looking to practice a hard nosed form of protestanism. 
Economy

Virginias main crop was tobacco which was so important to the


colony that it backed the colonys  currency. Also tobacco gave
Cirginia lot's of profit since there was a large demand and they
were making so much. Robert King Carter was the richest man in
Virginia and owned the most slaves and land and sat in the
govenors council. The tobacco Phenomenon was originally mad
popular by John Rolfe.
