K to 12

◦ it is referred to the primary and secondary course of


education altogether for the period starting from
kindergarten to standard twelve.  In many countries like
United States, Australia, China, Japan, Germany, and
now in India also, educational institutes are following the
K-12 education pattern.
•K is for kindergarten and 12 denotes the class 12 in the term
K-12. The term refers to the primary stage to the 12 th class of
basic education. The entire period includes 6 years of
elementary education, 4 years for junior high school, and 2
years for senior high school.
