Open AI seek $90bn valuations in share sales
OpenAI, the artificial intelligence startup behind
ChatGPT, is reportedly in talks with investors about a
potential share sale that would value it at $80 to $90
billion. This would make OpenAI one of the most highly
valued startups in the world, joining the ranks of TikTok
owner ByteDance and SpaceX.
The deal is expected to allow employees to sell their existing shares, rather than OpenAI issuing new ones to raise fresh
capital. This suggests that OpenAI is confident in its ability to generate revenue from its AI technology, which could include
selling access to its large language models or developing new AI products and services.

OpenAI's potential valuation of $90 billion would be a significant increase from its valuation of $29 billion in January of this
year. This reflects the growing interest in AI technology and the potential for AI companies to disrupt a wide range of
industries. Source -openai.com

Univ. of Washington researchers roll out tiny, battery-free, autonomous
robot called ‘MilliMobile’
Researchers at the University of Washington have developed a tiny, battery-
free, autonomous robot called MilliMobile. The robot is about the size of a
penny and weighs as much as a raisin. It is powered by light and radio waves,
and it can move across surfaces such as concrete or packed soil.

MilliMobile is equipped with a solar panel-like energy harvester and four

wheels. It can roll about 30 feet in an hour on a cloudy day. The robot can also
carry nearly three times its own weight in equipment, such as a camera or
sensors.
Overall, MilliMobile is a promising new development in the field of robotics. It is a small, battery-free, and autonomous robot
that has the potential to be used for a variety of applications.

Microsoft vets lead new startup that helps create
instructions for machines
Microsoft researchers are using ChatGPT, a large language model from OpenAI, to control
robots and drones in a more natural way. This research could make it easier for people to
interact with robots without needing to learn complex programming languages or robotic
systems.
In a paper published in February 2023, Microsoft researchers showed how ChatGPT could be used to generate robot code
based on simple natural language instructions. For example, the researchers were able to instruct a robotic arm to create a
Microsoft logo from wooden blocks using ChatGPT. They were also able to use ChatGPT to steer a drone to reach a waypoint
while avoiding obstacles.
One of the key challenges of using ChatGPT for robotics is that robots need to be able to understand and respond to the
physical world. ChatGPT is trained on a massive dataset of text and human interactions, but it does not have any knowledge of
physics or robotics. To overcome this challenge, the Microsoft researchers developed a set of prompts that they could use to
guide ChatGPT to generate robot code that is physically feasible and safe.

Neuralink gets approval of human trials
Neuralink, a neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk, has received
approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin human
trials of its brain implant. The implant is designed to help people with paralysis
regain control of their limbs and communicate with computers using their
thoughts.

The FDA approval is a major milestone for Neuralink, which has been working on the implant for several years. The company
has previously tested the implant on animals, and the results have been promising.

The human trials will involve a small number of participants who have severe paralysis. The implant will be surgically
implanted in their brains, and they will then undergo training to learn how to use it.

If the trials are successful, Neuralink could eventually market the implant to people with paralysis and other neurological
disorders. The implant could also be used to enhance human cognitive abilities, such as memory and concentration.
INTERNET OF THINGS
What is IOT ?
What is IOT
 Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects or
‘things’ embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and
network connectivity which enables these objects to collect and
exchange data.

 IoT allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across

internet, creating opportunities for more direct integration
between the physical world and computer-based systems, and
resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit.
Working of IOT
An IoT ecosystem consists of Internet-enabled devices that
use sensors and communication hardware to collect, send
and act on data they acquire from their environments.
