Con….
In Ethiopia, the construction industry is the highest recipient of
government budget in terms of government development programs
Consequently, public construction projects consume an average
annual rate of nearly 60% of the government’s capital budget
(MoWUD, 2006).
In construction, delay could be defined as the time overrun either
beyond completion date specified in a contract, or beyond the date
that the parties agreed upon for delivery of a project.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEME
Why does this research be conducted
A construction project is commonly acknowledged as successful, when it is
completed on schedule and within the agreed budget, with the highest quality
and in the safest manner, in accordance with the specifications and to
stakeholders’ satisfaction.
Construction delay defined as “time over run either beyond completion date
specified in a contract or beyond the date that parties agree upon for delivery of a
project.”
This research examined the factors that cause delays to building construction project
and determine how critical delay causes are most influential in project performance.

METHODOLOGY
Literatures about Constriction delays and Relative Importance Index (RII)
will be reviewed.
The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
The relative importance indices were calculated for each question within
the form using the statistical techniquesthe collected DCP data for the
analysis will substitute into the existing correlations to find the estimated
CBR values.
