Topic Sunflower

The sunflower is an annual herb that grows up to 4.5 meters tall with broad leaves arranged spirally on the stem. It has many small flowers arranged in a pseudanthium or flowerhead. Scientifically known as Helianthus annuus, sunflowers have health benefits like reducing risks of heart disease and diabetes. They progress through vegetative, reproductive, ripening, and senescence stages. Major types are oilseed and non-oilseed varieties. While their seeds and oil provide nutrients, oil can potentially cause digestive issues in some.
