WİRELİNE OPERATİONS: AN OVERVİEW

 In the oil and gas sector, Wireline operations involve the use of specialized cables,
commonly referred to as "wireline," to gather vital petrophysical and geophysical data
from beneath the earth's surface. These cables serve as the conduit for a range of
crucial activities, including:

 - Subsurface Data Acquisition: Wireline cables are instrumental in acquiring detailed


subsurface geophysical and petrophysical data. This information plays a pivotal role in
understanding subsurface geology, reservoir properties, and production characteristics.

 - Well Construction Services: Beyond data acquisition, wireline operations facilitate a


host of essential well construction services. These include pipe recovery, perforating,
plug setting, well cleaning, and fishing activities.
TYPES OF WİRELİNE CABLES

 Let's explore the various types of wireline cables and their specific applications:
 1. Multi-Conductor Wireline

 - Construction: Multi-conductor lines feature external armor wires wound around


a core of typically 4- or 7-conductors. These conductors, bound together in a
central core and protected by outer armor wires, serve crucial functions.

 - Applications: Primarily used in open-hole and cased-hole applications, multi-


conductor cables transmit power to downhole instrumentation and facilitate the
transmission of data and commands to and from the surface.
2. SİNGLE CONDUCTOR WİRELİNE

 - Construction: Similar in construction to multi-conductor cables, single conductor cables


feature a single conductor within the core.

 - Applications: These cables, with smaller diameters ranging from 1⁄10 inch to 5⁄16 inch, are
particularly suited for pressurized wells. They find applications in pipe recovery, perforating,
plug setting, and production logging activities.
3. SLİCKLİNE

 - Description: Slickline, a type of wireline, consists of a single,


unarmored, solid wire used in various downhole applications.

 - Applications: Slickline operations are commonly employed in basic


well interventions, such as setting or retrieving wellbore equipment
and tools.
4. BRAİDED LİNE

 - Description: Braided lines feature a series of intertwined wires, providing enhanced strength
and flexibility.

 - Applications: Often utilized in challenging downhole environments, braided lines are


suitable for operations requiring durability and reliability.
5. ADDİTİONAL VARİANTS

 - Sheathed Slickline: A variation of slickline, sheathed slickline


features a protective polymer sheath for added durability.

 - Fiber-Optic Lines: Emerging technologies incorporate fiber-optic


lines for advanced data transmission and monitoring capabilities.

EQUİPMENT MEAN?

Wireline Pressure Control Equipment are one of the types of Pressure Control
Equipment which helps in maintaining the optimal pressure levels inside a
wellbore when any well intervention operations are performed by an operator in
any easy or arduous conditions. All such equipment are manufactured with the
intent that they can withstand arduous conditions and thus use stringent quality
standards.

 Wireline pressure control equipment consists of various wireline equipment or mostly


wireline valves that helps in maintaining the pressure levels inside the wellbore during well
workover and intervention processes.
 These valves are called as:
 Wireline valves
 Compact hydraulic wireline valves
 Wireline valve equalising systems
 Wireline valve Ram configurations
 All these equipment are manufactured as per international standards and meets API 6A
specifications.
 There is a varying pressure ratings these products are designed and manufactured. The rating
ranges from 3000 psi to 20,000 psi rated pressure control equipment.
