biggest telecommunications provider in Saudi Arabia
and the Middle East with a portfolio that includes
mobile, broadband, cloud computing, and IoT solutions.

• Scalability and Customization: The modularity of the SAP ERP

increases the opportunity to expand the processes according to
need. For example, STC recently incorporated predictive analytics
for optimizing network operations and enhancing customer
experience

• High Implementation Costs: The initial investment,

including licensing, required hardware upgrades, and
consulting fees, was huge. On-going maintenance and
periodic update operations would continue to tap cash
resources.

• Dependency on Vendors: Customization and maintenance

of SAP ERP has seen a perpetual engagement with SAP-
certified consultants which further increases an operational
dependency.

• Integration Challenges: Integration of SAP ERP with older

systems initially wreaked havoc, which included delays in
payroll processing and reporting.
