The statue of Christ the Redeemer has become
a symbolic protector of people. Like Jesus Christ,
the statue protects the urban environment, like
a roof over your head. Cristo Redentor is as
important as any shelter. Christ the Redeemer
provides protection for the soul.

The Christ the Redeemer statue is famous because

it's a massive, iconic representation of Jesus Christ
with outstretched arms, symbolizing peace and
welcome, situated on top of Corcovado Mountain in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, making it a powerful symbol of
Christianity and a major tourist attraction due to its
stunning location and impressive size; it's considered
one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and is
recognized globally as a cultural icon of both Rio and
Brazil itself.
Machu Picchu, an Inca citadel located in the Andes
Mountains of Peru, is one of the world’s most well
known sacred places. A marvel of human engineering
melded perfectly into a natural setting of profound
beauty, it’s no wonder this place has been adopted as a
pilgrimage destination for spiritual seekers of all races
and beliefs. But in becoming a tourist mecca and a
significant source of revenue for Peru, this shrine of
stone has lost its connection with the descendants of
the people who created it.

The citadel of Machu Picchu, meaning “old peak” in the native Quechua language, is named
for the mountain on which it sits. It looms 2,000 feet above the serpentine Urubamba River in
the tropical mountain forest of the upper Amazon basin. The city’s finely hewn granite blocks
comprise dwellings, agricultural terraces and storehouses, plazas and temples.

Machu Picchu is famous for its historical significance, cultural heritage, natural beauty,
and astronomical purpose.

also meant to celebrate the abolition of slavery
following the U.S. Civil War.
The Statue of Liberty is famous because it is widely
recognized as a universal symbol of freedom,
democracy, and hope, representing the ideals of
the United States and welcoming immigrants to its
shores, particularly due to its location near Ellis
Island, where millions arrived during the
immigration wave; it was also originally conceived
as a gift from France to celebrate the friendship
between the two nations and commemorate the
