Chapter 1 review

In this chapter, we see Amir recalls on event


that happen when he was 12 years old that
Made who he is now. A call from Rahim telling
Amir to come to Pakistan. Because of that we
see Amir get nostalgic and starts remembering
the past bringing suspense to the story
Chapter 2 review
• In this chapter, We Learn about Amir's
childhood with Hassan in Kabul, where they
climbed trees together and pranking their
neighbors. This chapter tells us Amir lost his
mother at birth and Hassan mother ran
away after giving birth to Hassan. So in this
chapter it tells us that Amir and Hassan had
a strong bond and a bit of the same
childhood.
Chapter 3 review

• This chapter tell us about Amir's relationship


with his father. Amir feels like Baba hates him
as he Amir thinks he isn't the son Baba
dreamed of having as Amir wasn't like him,
Amir also takes Baba hates him as Amir was
the reason his mother died. This chapter
makes us understand Amir's feelings with his
relationship with his father.
Chapter 4 review
• In chapter 4 it tells us about two young men
driving under the influence accidentally kill Ali’s
parents and Amir’s grandfather see's Ali and
adopts the orphaned Ali, and Ali grows up
alongside Baba so despite their closeness, Baba
never refers to Ali as his friend. Amir and Hassan
share childhood adventures. It tells us Amir was
reading Hassan a story he made his own and
Hassan liked it so much it gave Amir motivation to
be a writer. This chapter tells us why Amir became
a writer and it was because of his friend Hassan.
Chapter 5 review
• In chapter 5 Amir and Hassan meet Asseff. We learn that Asseff is a
bully that bully kids who come in him and his gang way. We see Amir
can't defend himself and Hassan would help him by defending him and
himself with a slingshot. We learn how good of a friend Hassan is to
Amir and how strong their friendship is.
Chapter 6 review

• In chapter 6 we learn about a kite


tournament that's happening in the winter in
Kabul. We see how badly Amir wants to win
as he wants to impress his father as Amir
thinks his dad sees him as failure who can't
defend himself. We see how important this is
for Amir and he is determined to win.
Chapter 7 review
• In chapter 7, Amir takes place in the kite
tournament in Kabul. We know how Amir is
determined to win the tournament, and with the
help of Hassan they win the tournament. But while
Hassan was retreating the winning kite, Hassan
was assaulted by Asseff and his people. Amir saw
the whole thing but ran away and this caused Amir
and Hassan's friendship to break. It is an
emotional chapter with guilt and traumatic parts.
Chapter 8 review
• In chapter 8,the relationship between Amir
and his father becomes strained as Amir
struggles to gain his father's approval. The
kite tournament victory makes Amir's guilt
for betraying Hassan more bad. The
emotional complexity deepens as the
consequences of Amir's actions unfold. In
this chapter the relationship with Amir and
Hassan worsens as they both stay away
from each other with Amir feeling guilty.
Chapter 9 review

• In chapter 9, Amir's guilts continues to haunt


him, causing His and Hassan relationship to
worsen. The writer explains the relationship is
getting too complicated, and Amir decides to
betray Hassan as he wants his guilt to be
gone. The chapters tension increases as the
characters' lives changes.
Chapter 10 review
• In chapter 10, the chapter reveals new layers to the characters
struggles. After Amir's betrayal it tells us how to Russians invaded
Afghanistan. Because of this it causes Baba and Amir to flee to
Pakistan leaving Rahim khan in Afghanistan with Baba's house in
Kabul. This chapter brings emotion and growth to and Amir is coping
with his guilt after betraying Hassan.
Chapter 11 review

• In chapter 11, Amir and Baba navigate life in


America, facing cultural challenges. The
father-son relationship persists as they adapt
to a new environment. Amir's starts pursuing
his dream of writing which adds a layer of
tension to their dynamics. The chapter
explores the character's on what they pursue
Chapter 12
review
In chapter 12, Amir finally talks to Soraya and
start talking for a while. Intell Amir's discovery
of a shocking truth about his father deepens
the emotional landscape. The narrative forms
themes of sacrifice, betrayal, and the
enduring weight of secrets. As the father-son
relationship faces new challenges, the novel's
exploration of redemption gains momentum.
Chapter 13
review
• In this Chapter, Amir and Soraya get
married helping Amir forget the past.
Baba dies after the wedding causing Amir
to be a bit sadden. Amir learns about
Soraya family too after Babas death. This
chapter brings emotions, sadness and
happiness.
Chapter 14 review

• In chapter 14, Amir gets a call from Rahim Khan


telling him to come to Pakistan as he is ill. This
chapter is after Amir explains his childhood from
chapter 1. The thought of going to Pakistan and
meeting Rahim Khan brings back Amirs
memory's from his childhood. Amir thinks about
his relationship with Soraya as they only talk
about work and nothing else. This chapter get
intense as Amir is going back to his past and
thinks about his relationship with Soraya.
Chapter 15 review
• In chapter 13, We see Amir going to Pakistan to meet Rahim Khan who
is sick. Amir uncovers new revelations from his past. The narrative
grows more intense as Amir's grapples with his repercussions from his
past actions. The guilts adds on to Amir as he starts getting nostalgic
meeting Rahim Khan. This chapter gets intense as Amir past is meeting
him again causing more guilt on him.
Chapter 16
review
• In chapter 16, we learn that Rahim Khan
wasn't living alone and had brought Hassan
and his family with him. As Rahim was too
old to take care of the house. This chapter
Begans to get interesting with Hassan's
return. We also learn the war was still going
on making the story get more intense. This
chapter brings suspense and a surprise.
Chapter 17 review

• In chapter 17, we find out Hassan and his wife


have been killed and their son has been send to
an orphanage. Amir guilt gets to him and
believes it's his fault for their death's. We also
find out that Ali can't have kids and Hassan is
Amir's half-brother. We see Amir is in mix of
emotions finding out he had betrayed his own
brother and is father lied to him. This chapters
brings suspense and emotions to the story and
guilt to Amir.
Chapter 18
Review
• In chapter 18, We see Amir feeling guilty for
the death of Hassan and says he's
responsible for it. We also see how similar
Baba and Amir are, They both betrayed there
best friends and lied. We see how Rahim
gives Amir a second chance to redeem
himself by bringing Sohrab to Pakistan for
better care. This chapter is a crucial turning
point in Amir life if he wants to redeem
himself.
Chapter 19 review
• In this chapter, We see Amir wants to redeem himself so he goes off to
find Sohrab. We see Amir finally isn't thinking about himself and going
to hopefully remove the guilt he has. Amir goes with Farid his driver to
Kabul who thinks Amir is going only to sell his land but Amir isn't
selfless anymore and is going for a kid which shocks Farid. While
stopping at Farid Brother's house Amir leaves money under there pillow
and we learn from here that Amir is slowly redeeming himself and is
becoming a Betterman. In this chapter we finally see Amir slowly fixing
his past mistakes.
Chapter 20 review

• In chapter 20, We learn it won't be easy to find


Sohrab. Kabul is like a post-apocalyptic landscape,
and totally transformed from the place Amir grew
up. Anything that might signal normalcy even
trees have been destroyed. We learn Sohrab isn't
in the orphanage and had been sold to a Taliban
so Amir and Farid head there to get him to safety.
We See Amir is sticking to his mission for
redeeming himself and won't give up intel he's in
safe hands.
Chapter 21 review

• In chapter 21, When Amir goes to visit Baba's


house, he is shocked to see it in such a bad
state and while walking through the house,
Amir is going through mixes of emotion. When
they reach the stadium, they see how Strick
they are with rules like adultery. At the end of
the game they tell the Taliban they have
business to discuss.
