1. E-panchayat Introduction
● E-Panchayat is a software product conceptualized, designed and developed by National Information Centre,
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India as a part of its E-governance initiatives.
● Stakeholders: citizens, elected representatives, Gram Panchayat officials, the governments and the knowledge
workers.
● Coverage: 2.45 lakhs panchayats across India
● States covered: Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Himanchal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kearla, Karnataka, Haryana and Goa.
● Expenditure on e-Panchayat: INR 15 crore for the fiscal year 2023 (between 2022-2023)
● India's first-ever digitized Panchayat ward: Aymanam grama panchayat of ward No. 15 in Kerala
2. Objectives of E-Panchayat
● Automation of internal workflow processes of panchayats.

4. Key Component:
E-GramSwaraj:
This user-friendly web portal is the backbone of e-panchayat. It offers various modules for:
○ Planning:
Gram panchayats can create development plans, track progress, and manage budgets online.
○ Accounting:
Financial transactions, receipts, and expenditures can be recorded electronically, ensuring
transparency.
○ Monitoring:
Real-time tracking of project implementation and resource utilization allows for better oversight.
○ Asset Management:
Maintaining a digital inventory of Panchayat assets simplifies tracking and maintenance.
5. The Modules
● E-Panchayat comprises nearly 30 main modules, and Nearly 150 sub-modules, in line with
the 30 sectoral functions of the gram panchayats.
● Ramachandrapuram Gram Panchayat (Merdak District, Near Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh)
was taken as panchayat for e-Panchayat.
