access and view web pages.
3. web servers: computers that store and deliver web
pages to users upon request. when a user enters a url
(uniform resource locator) in their browser, the browser
sends a request to the appropriate web server, which then
sends back the requested web page.
4.HTTP/HTTPS: protocols used for transmitting
data over the web. http (hypertext transfer
protocol) is the standard protocol, while https
(http secure) is a secure version that encrypts
data to protect user privacy and security .
5. WEB DEVELOPMENT: THE PROCESS OF CREATING AND
maintaining websites, which includes web design (the
visual and user experience aspects) and web programming
(the functi onal aspects using languages like html, css,
javascript, and server-side languages like php, python,
and ruby).
6.web applicati ons: interacti ve applicati ons that run on
web servers and can be accessed through web browsers.
examples include email services (like gmail), social media
platf orms (like facebook), and online stores (like amazon)
Version of web or evolution of web technologies
• Web 1.0: The early web, characterized by static websites with
limited interactivity.
• Web 2.0: The interactive and social web, featuring dynamic content,
user-generated content, and social media platforms.
• Web 3.0: The semantic web and beyond, emphasizing machine-
readable data, decentralization, and blockchain technologies.
