Job Description
As a FinOps Lead for Cloud Cost Optimization & Strategy, you will be responsible for driving financial accountability and cost optimization across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering, finance, and business teams to ensure that cloud investments deliver maximum business value. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading FinOps strategy and execution across cloud platforms to ensure alignment with business goals. - Owning monthly cloud billing reviews and cost allocation across different business units. - Developing and maintaining cost models and forecasts for cloud Opex by service and business area. - Driving cost optimization initiatives with product and engineering teams through regular reviews. - Automating reporting and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or native cloud analytics. - Tracking Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and decommissioning benefits over multi-year periods. - Implementing tagging, guardrails, and usage policies to prevent cost overruns. - Collaborating with finance to refresh allocation rules and improve transparency. - Utilizing strategic insights to drive transformation initiatives aligned with the organization's objectives. In addition to the above responsibilities, some highly valued skills for this role may include: - FinOps certification or equivalent experience. - Experience with cloud governance frameworks and compliance. - Knowledge of infrastructure migration and decommissioning strategies. - Exposure to enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Starburst.
